Re: Smoke detectors as air quality sensors!
Hmmm. Shame. Thanks, though. It saved me some time mucking around. Read a bit on the Deconz forums too. Seems this device kinda works, but not fully supported yet (or does not support all attributes).

Re: Smoke detectors as air quality sensors!
Thanks for the reply. I am using the standard built in Xiaomi plugin rather than Zigbee2MQTT and it appears it does not create a value for this. Definately no devices created for them by the plugin other than the on/off switch/arlarm status. I have already separated out some of my Xiaomi sensors ...

Smoke detectors as air quality sensors!
Hi - I have a couple of Xioami smoke detectors working for a long time. I recently got some Ikea air quality sensors as well.
It occurred to me today after some sort of issue and poking around the smoke detector sensor logs, that the smoke detectors are actually reporting particle counts to ...

Convert 'Electricity' style device to 'Instant+Counter'
Hi,
I have an 'Electricity device which holds the current Eelctricty consumption for my home. It's been setup this way for a long time. I think, reading here, it is now better to use Instant+Counter as this has better reporting and works with the new Energy Dash. I do however have 7 years of data ...

Re: There is no device with that name or id
LOL! I do not believe it! After messing for some hours and posting this. Just before I gave up, I decided to restart the Domoticz service. What do I see? The 2 virtual sensors immediately update!!! OMG. I am sure I had restarted before, no difference!
I will leave this here in case it helps someone ...

There is no device with that name or id
Hi,
I have a script, the stock deconzSensors contributed script. It's pretty simple, takes some values and updates a virtual sensor. I added it to the dzEvents as a 'devices' script. It does run when it needs too and find the devices, but it cannot update the virtual sensor.

idx number are being re-used on new devices
Hi,
I have a huge issue with my Domoticz. A while back I created some new scenes and these got created with device idx's that were already in use by other sensors. I lost a lot of historical data I wanted. I did post about it in the bug section a few months back, but I did not hear anything, so ...

Thanks. The simple lua script did some other things too, but I managed to re-code it in dzvents and retrieve the value with .WhToday

Get Kwh value from computed energy counter
Hi,
In Lua, I am trying to retrieve the KwH number for a simple cost calculation, but I just can't figure out how to!

If I look at otherdevices_svalues["NormalTariff"], I get 2 values. 1 is the current energy usage, the other is a number that seems to bear no relation to ...

Simple thermostat control in lua
Hi,
I spent this am so far upgrading my Domoticz to the new version (Thank you!), and coding a new, simpler thermostat for my heaters. I figure I should share this. It is very simple, but someone might find it useful.

Re: Kasa hardware
Hi - That's Tapo, not Kasa, I think. Different hardware/protocol, same people (tplink). My experience so far, Kasa works, tapo is junk :) But, yes - I did read that thread. Bought the tapo bulbs first as they were a little cheaper than the kasa ones. Could not even get them to detect the wifi. Gave ...

Kasa hardware
Hi,
Just wanted to share this, as I could not find this info here, but, it works beautifully!
So, I've had TPLink plug for a while and used a script from here to make it work. It's one that works only with the old firmware and it works with the plugs only. I recently got some BL50 bulbs. The old ...

Thanks for the share. I still have some of the original kit. They just went the 'Apple' route and tripled or more the price of all their products. Shame. It was great affordable kit. Simple, but worked.

Re: Python on win10 installation & domoticz problems
Yep, need python 3.x
I have win 10, python 3.5.3 ( x86 ==> important) with custom install ( all users / include in path )
This run quite stable without any trouble since many months now.
3.5.3 x86 works well, thanks for the reply !
Thank you for this. After trying with latest release, and ...

Re: Xiaomi Smart Home Suite (very cheap) compatibilty?
I just received my gateway and sensors etc today. Install was pretty straightforward. Gateway added to domoticz OK. All sensors paired and showing up in domoticz. Getting live readings from them all. I can press a switch and see the 'Click' event in the log.

Fantastic work! Yet to get it setup, but just what I was looking for and adds considerable value to Domoticz. Thank you for sharing with the community.

Re: Xiaomi Smart Home Suite (very cheap) compatibilty?
Folks, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
Any idea how I can use the Motion Sensor in my Domoticz? My Aqara Motion Sensor only detects motion (and battery status), not light. Maybe it's not the motion sensor at all?
