Check the domoticz log. Mine said that port 8084 was already taken. A reboot solved this

I'm having troubles with the latest update (2.0.3412-7) . Everything works fine, but after +/- 30min Domoticz stops. Wenn I manually restart it, everything stops +/- 30min later.
I already did a clean instal, reboot, nothing worked.
The last version worked fine (about 2 months ago), so it's been a while since I made an update.
I have a Synology DS214 fully updated.
Anyone else having these issues?

I don't know what causes your problem and it's working stable here on my DS712+.
I have today updated domoticz to V2.0.3430-7 and OpenZWave to Version 1.3.518.
Hope that solve your problem.

Thank you for all the work you are doing! I figured out what caused the crashes. The Kodi server in my devices made Domoticz crash. So it had nothing to do with the Synology package!
Thx for the update!

Hi I am new on this forum, just starting Domoticz.

This thread is long, 22 pages already, so just my question.

I have DS211j and have downloaded the package from synocommunity. Version showing 2.0.2112-5
I have ordered AEONLABS 2-stick USB, and have a Hikvison IP Camera operational (Visible in the Domoticz Windows versions)

Before I start Domoticz on my NAS do I need to do anything else? I see other's loading some additional programs, is this needed?
Also I see some "chat" about updates and drivers for USB devices, will the version from synocommunity have them and will the package update to future releases?

Any help is welcome and apreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

DS214 use arch-armadaxp
Have you tried to manually download domoticz_armadaxp-5.2_2.0.3502-7.spk http://jadahl.dscloud.me/sspks/packages ... 3502-7.spk
No one else has reported problem with armadaxp packages.

@yugoos
The log does not tell me what the problem is.
Did you uninstall the old domoticz or did you update?
I think you should uninstall the old.
I'm not familiar with ser2net, do you need some special drivers for this device?

I did uninstall the old version, i even doublechecked the removal from /var/packages after uninstall.
Could another package be causing trouble?

Ser2net is a popular and simple tool to share a serial port on a tcp port over the network/internet, if the serialport is available on the host no aditional driver is needed...i used your usbserial drivers for wich work great...
See: http://ser2net.sourceforge.net
Domoticz can also use these shared serial ports.
I only cannot compile anything on my nas and i dont have crosscompilers or the time to figure out what's needed to create a package

I'm on the beta track through Synology jadahl repo. With every update, my scripts folder is gone. Since I had only 1 major script running, I started to make a copy of it in the /domoticz/ directory.
Again with the Latest update, V2.3542, my scripts folder is gone again, and the copy of the script is also gone.

What am I missing here? I'm recreating the folder and script each time an update has run. Though I'm, on a beta version, this shouldn't happen.

Any advice?

I have created the scripts folder myself, as it was missing. copied the samplescripts examples over and started to use the scripts.
Every update it is gone, so I must using the wrong folder, ie create it myself each time.
Also, I copied the script files I use to the /domoticz/ folder as a backup. Also gone after the updates.

I'm going mad! should I use /domoticz/var/scripts/ instead?

Thanks Jumbotroll,

I have downloaded and it worked. I also had to do an update, worked also.
Added the P1 Smart Meter USB worked perfect after I set the port to USB0 (connected at the front on the NAS) and 115200 as baud rate (9600 did not work on this KAIFA MA105C)
Now what remains is the AEOTEC Z-Stick Gen5 that is blinking all 3 colors all the time and not seeing my Fibaro Universal Binary Sensor (FGBS-001 v2.1 - v2.3)
The device is connected to ACM0 port on the NAS (I do not see any other ports). I used an USB port on the back in the NAS. Looking in Synolgy infocenter (DSM5.2) I see, for external systems 2 USB devices being "USBDevice - Sigma Designs, Inc." and "FT232 USB-Serial (UART) IC - Future Technology Devices International, Ltd". The last one my P1 Smart Meter USB and the first one should be the Z-Stick. So it's connected and seen by the NAS and by Domoticz, when I look in the LOG file it's there.

So what do I miss, why is my Binary Sensor not visible? I did follow the procedure, pushing the button 3 times. Even tried it with holding the Z-Stick next to it being in inclusion mode.

Not so important, just a question, the LOG file is filling itselff every 10 seconds with statements about the P1, any option to change it?

Any advise/help is more than welcome. :D Update: Solved by resetting,restarting,...again....now it's ok

Many thanks in advance, with kind regards,

BayensF

Hello everybody

I've just installed domoticz on my Synology DS212 after having used Raspberry 2 during many months.

Besides domoticz (published by Jumbotroll) I use a bash script to detect presence at home based on ping.

So each time, I update domoticz with the DSM "package manager', it never starts again.

Even if I kill all running 'bash program' and all events locking port 8084 (netstat command), the domoticz program don't start again.

The only way I've found to make domoticz restart is to issue the command "ipkg remove bash" which is painfull.

Do you have any idea why I have to issue this command and how I can solve my problem ?

Thanks for your help

Hello Jumbotroll,

this package.... It's a great work and thank you for it.

I use this enhancement "custom pages" http://easydomoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=331
All the app is installed in /domoticz/www/monitor

Every update the directory "domoticz/www/monitor" is erased. So everytime i have to copy them manualy from a copy.
And of course I forget to save this directory before the update.

Can you help me (eg not erase this directory monitor)

Thanks.

Yes this is surviving the updates. A lot of references in this forum and wiki are on the ./domoticz/scripts/ folder. This is not right, and it's deleted with every (beta) update.

Thanks for pointing this out, all good now.
