Maybe it is a bad idea to keep the old /styles folder in case of updates.
I think maybe I will work on a another solution..
If there is a "custom-temp" folder in the styles folder we can keep that but update as usual?

This way
www/styles/custom-temp

What do you think about that?

Do styles appear in Domoticz when they are in the custom-temp folder? Also if there are more than one styles in it? If so then that's a nice solution. (Can't test this right now as I am not at home).

@Jumbotroll, I noticed that the file History.txt (in the var folder) is missing in the package. Is it possible to add this file in the packages? When you click on the version number in Domoticz this file is being showed if present.
Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a great idea. You only have to change the name of that theme into "custom-temp" and you're done. That's a safe way of updating :) !

How many custom styles do we need?
Maybe if we make a installer script that keep all folder named custom-*
Work still in progress, so I don't know if I can make this work.

That's true, I have more custom styles in the folder but I am only using one of them. So keeping one folder is fine. If I want to use another style I can just copy it at that moment.

Isn't it possible to keep all the folders in there that don't come with Domoticz by default?
You know that Domoticz writes 'folderA', 'folderB', 'folderC' to that folder, so everything that is not A, B, C should be kept

@G3rard
@mvveelen

Here you can test custom styles folder restore function.
Create folder /www/style/custom-1 to /www/style/custom-3
Max 3 folders, and the name "custom-1" are case sensitive!
The content of these folders will be restored when updating.

I renamed the custom-template to custom-1 and updated. The custom-1 folder still existed after updating, so this works :D ! Thanks Jumbotroll !

Seems to work fine, solution works as you explained.
Bit more difficult to see what theme is installed by looking only at filename, but there is only one custom theme needed, so shouldn't be that hard. Just kidding ;)

Nice Theme ThinkPad :)

I have added the www/styles/ThinkTheme to backup restore in domoticz_armada370-5.2_2.0.2970-7.spk.
If www/styles/ThinkTheme are present it will backup and restore the theme.

Hahaha great! But i will stick to the general solution ('custom-1') you made, otherwise everyone will come ask you if you can create an exception for their theme.
And i now have included the name of my theme on the bottom of the webinterface of Domoticz, so not a problem anymore :)

Hi jumbotroll,
Just wanted to know how can I tell what version is the Synology package based on -
I am interested in implementing some smoke alarms to domoticz, and wanted to know if the newest synology package has the following in it -
- Implemented: MySensors added support for S_SMOKE/S_DIMMER
- Implemented: RFLink SmokeDetector support

Thanks for a great package by the way.. love it.
