Re: Energy Dashboard (Build in)

Post by elgringo »

I have multiple solar inverters (and no battery) is it possible to combine multiple solar inverter to 1?
I tried something with a custom sensor which add both, this works but still is a dirty solution.

Second I have a fixed contract with fixed prices, but in the Netherlands we have netting (salderen). price for delivery and return are the same is the total usage over a period is higher or equal the total return.
A few years ago a made a formula to calculate this, but this formula changed the actual price at the end of the period. I dont know if it is possible to add this into the calculation. Its a pain in the ass since actual prices are only know at the end of the period.

Better not use a Custom Sensor but a Electricity (instant and counter) device.
I already posted a script in this discussion how to combine multiple devices in a new dummy Electricity (instant and counter) device.

HansieNL wrote: Tuesday 09 July 2024 12:46 The solar panel setting for the Energy Dashboard is disabled, but the solar panel is still shown. The values are 0.000 kWh and 0 Watt. Is this correct or should it not be shown at all?
Yes, this was correct. I assumed this display was only useful when you have a PV system.
In the upcoming beta version it is now possible to display without PV.

I have a feature request:

it would be really nice that when you click on a device on the energy dashboard, it would direct you directly to the devicelog of that device, so a link like http(s)://<ip:port>/#/Devices/<deviceidx>/Log

would this be possible?

(minor) feature request for the excellent (thanks for it!) new display:

Option for arranging the items also in portrait mode rather than landscape would improve usage e.g. with smartphones.

Works for me on my smartphone. How does yours look like? You can also zoom in..

Yes, it is working on the smartphone. But it is very small. Usage of the unused space above and below, with bigger items and larger font would improve visibility. Compare my "solution" - before the nice new energy dashboard existed - with a simple floor plan (please don`t laugh about the amateurish design 😉)

Can you share how to do this as it's way more better to view on the phone than the integrated energy dashboard.

NOTE: THIS WORKAROUND IS CRAP COMPARED TO THE NICE NEW ENERGY DASHBOARD. It is just a group of devices based on function placed on a background image.

You have to create a "room" and a roomplan. I have called it Energy. Then you assign the needed devices to this room. Then you create a floorplan which only contains this "room".

This was just my workaround (without any animated energy flow of course) before the energy dashboard existed. I have created a background image (usually it is a floor plan) and placed the necessary devices on it.

When you have also battery installed it is already less landscape or portait mode. See the screenshot in https://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopi ... 69#p318569

So it will be difficult to satisfy everybody's wishes. The workaround to have it in the floorplan has been around for ages.

That's right. A bigger font size would even be enough. But I think this wouldn't work inside the bullets.

To avoid any misunderstanding: I absolutely love the new Energy dashboard!

Don't know if this is the cause. But in my case, type "General" with subtype "kWh" is working (rather than your type "Usage" and subtype "Elektric"). Maybe it is worth a trial.

I don't get the cost fields filled on the energy dashboard. Simple typing in the costs in setup / meters/counters doesn't seem to be enough. Do I need an "Electricity price device"? I tried to choose "Internal (Meter settings) from the drop-down menu without success.

I understand, but that's how it is with me.

OK. But compare with my screenshot: Your device is missing "Type: Return" and "Energy read: From Device". As already mentioned: I have no idea, if this is the cause. Just sharing how it works for me.

You have to enable (Dynamic) price calculation. Select a specific sensor with dynamic price information or use the fixed "internal (meter settings)"
