Philips LivingColors 1st gen

Post by sebasdomoticz »

Experts,
As a noob I would like to connect a Philips LivingColors 1st generation to my RPi running domoticz. Currently I only have 2 hardware devices, the Aeonlabs Z-wave stick and the RFXcom RFXtrx433ext.
On this website http://www.knutsel.org/nl/2009/01/01/li ... generatie/ it is said that the lamp is controlled over the 2,4 Ghz wave. That is probably the reason it is not found in the log file.

Is it possible to connect this lamp to my domoticz. If yes, how?

thnx.

I have no idea. When a device operates over the 2,4 Ghz channel, can I still use it with domoticz using another antenna?

It seems someone designed a way to interface the LivingColors 1st gen over USB by using an Arduino and a custom shield:
http://www.knutsel.org/2010/04/11/assem ... no-shield/
http://www.knutsel.org/2010/01/08/hello-world/
http://www.knutsel.org/2012/09/04/livin ... -in-stock/

It looks like this might be the best way to go. But I guess you will need to write your own hookup to Domoticz.

I'm sorry to revive this thread, but did someone manage to get this working? I've bought the shield and added my lamps in the Arduino code and I can control the lights through a serial connection.

Does someone have a Python script that can talk to Arduino through USB Serial Connection of the Raspberry Pi?

Hi !
I have posted my solution of controlling a gen 1 LivingColors lamp using MySensors and Domoticz here : https://forum.mysensors.org/topic/4638/ ... ensor-node
I then also found out that there's another solution here : https://forum.mysensors.org/topic/3080/ ... olors-lamp

Enjoy !
