Move Domoticz to new Pi or Platform

Post by alarm_guy1 »

Hi I have Domoticz installed on a Pi (not 100% sure on model) but it seems sluggish sometimes, If I move it to the latest PI or a Linux Laptop do I just
get Domoticz installed, plug in my Zwave stick and import my latest backup, reboot and away I go with EVERYTHING working as it was?

Lastly if my Zwave USB stick fails, Do I have to re-learn all devices to a new stick?

although I am considering using a Pi Zwave hat going forward

cheers

If your backup contains domoticz.db and all subdirectories then yes, You might need to change the usb port name the Z-wave stick uses (in the domoticz hardware page).

Normally I just use this screen (Pic attached)

Will this be sufficient or do I need to do more.

Cheers

This will only make a backup of your database. Very important but not enough for what you want to do. You will miss external scripts / plugins and some zwave stuff from the config subdirectory. I don't know exactly what you need from that, i normally just copy everything when I create a clone on my test system.
