Re: How to keep historical data when changing battery in weather sensor

May I suggest to change the name of the article "Replace device" to "Replace battery" ?
My search was for battery, which gave no results.

How to keep historical data when changing battery in weather sensor

I know it is written somewhere in this forum. I used it before with success. But the batteries last too long to remember how I did it. I searched with different phrases but had no luck. I have different weather sensors, communicating over 433 MHz and received by RFXCOM. The ID changed from 3000 to ...

Re: NO SSH on raspberry pi

Installing SSH on your RPi is done with a tool within Raspi-config.
"Sudo apt raspi-config" brings you in the tool full of settings, including setting SSH.

You have to connect a monitor and keyboard to your RPi for this .....

Daily backup, automatically, of database

The RPi has the bad behavior to crash once in a while. All data between the period of the last manual backup and the moment of the crash is then lost. Is it possible to auto-email the database daily from out of Domoticz?

Re: (TIP) Increase reception RFXcom433

No, a dipole is a symmetrical antenna and the RFXcom only has a coaxial connector (asymmetrical). You can use a dipole but than you have to use a balun (short for BALancedUNbalanced) but this is rather complex for non-experienced people. A simple vertical wire of about 17 cm seems to give the best ...

Re: (TIP) Increase reception RFXcom433

The original antenna seems to be quite small actually, someone discovered: http://domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=6772 So it is not a miracle that a other/longer one is working better. http://i.imgur.com/AbkIWu0.jpg That picture comes from me. I now have a vector impedance analyzer and ...

Sounds great.
Which of the API-tools are you considering? Than I can start walking the same road.

It surely isn't rocket science for people, familiair with coding etc.

The Things Network (TTN)

I have looked into what is needed to link TTN to Domoticz. It will take me another year to puzzle that all out and build an application. If anybody on this forum has the time and the plan to create an API, based on one of the tools mentioned here https://www.thethingsnetwork.org/docs/applications ...

Re: LoRa and The Things Network (TTN)

For instance, if you made a Lora node that transmits a temperature, and using The Things Network, then you can use their MQTT broker service to receive it. I would like to re-activate this thread. I have a sensor, working on the LoRa network TTN (The Things Network). I see the data in my Console ...

Can RFLink and RFXtrx433E be connected at the same time?

I have a RPi 3 and RFXtrx433E up and running for 433.92 MHz equipment. I am planning to add some Somfy blinds to my house, which work on 433.42 MHz. In order to be able to receive the Somfy control signal all the time, I need a seperate receiver from the RFXtrx433E (which only transmits on 433.42 ...

Re: RPi and domoticz set up.

I also have RPi 3 but in my case it works great!
Have you started from scratch?
Did you follow the steps as in the Wiki?
Done sudo update and sudo upgrade?
Can you enter the RPi by Telnet?

Re: Rfxcom lost transmission power

I found out, with a little scanner on 433,92 MHz, that sensors start to generate a continuous RF signal when their battery is getting low, blocking the RFXCOM signal in their neighbourhood. Make sure that all sensors have proper working batteries!!!

Re: After update from 246 to 1009 remote switches don't switch

Mmm, I'll first flash version 1011 and see what that brings.
BTW: I used the flash utility from Domoticz for the first time, so not RFXFlash.

After update from 246 to 1009 remote switches don't switch

Hi, Last weekend I updated my RFXtrx433E from firmware version 246 to 1009. Since this update the RFXtrx has trouble in switching my KaKu front-door switch. It is a switch rather far away from the transceiver but it used to work 99% of the time. Now, since the update, it works 0% :( The output power ...

Should I put this brand/type on the black list?

Is there a white list of microSD cards which have a proven record?

Thanks.

Re: 20% discount Kaku at praxis.

The device is not an amplifier but a repeater. What it does is re-transmitting the code if the code is stored in the internal memory of this repeater. If you stored the ON code (from a KaKu transmitter) in the AEX-701 it will retransmit the same code after the original broadcast has stopped. If the ...

Re: Original Antenna of RFXtrx433

What lambda would this one correspond to? I think if you would stretch the coil, the wire will also be around 16,8cm? That would also be an easy fix then. Just remove the plastic antenna shell and straigthen out the wire and cut off a piece when it is longer than 16,8cm. I stretched the wire and ...
