Re: Sensor Help - please
I wish you luck with this project! One tip: the universal sensor can accept several sensors, wired in parallel (possibly using shielded twisted pair cable). You should include the universal sensor in your network only AFTER you have connected the desired (or final) number of thermometers to it. If ...

Re: Z-Wave stick / Razberry
I would suggest the latest version of the Aeon Z-Stick (Gen 5). My reasons are these: The device contains an internal battery. This allows you to take it to a pre-installed Z-wave unit (like a light-switch / relay) and carry out inclusions / exclusions in-situ (these operations require "direct ...

Re: Sensor Help - please
If you can find a unit with an external sensor probe, then in principle it should be possible to make the probe water-proof (if you really need to immerse it directly?). Some sensors will use a thermistor bead - these can be purchased readily (Farnell in the UK, a typical standard unit gives 10kOhms ...

Re: Unable to remove device?!
I think (!) that a "Hard" reset of your Z-Wave controller will remove all devices. This would require you to re-build the network from nothing - putting each device into reset / factory default and then including it into the new network. I also have had problems in removing only one or two "dead ...

Re: Fibaro Universal Binary sensor wrong temperature, no out
A couple of clarifications: The opto-couplers DO NOT generate any voltage of their own; when activated, the resistance across the output terminals will drop to a low-ish value. If the opto-coupler output is connected in series with a load (like a relay,or a LED plus current-limit resistor), and ...

Re: Fibaro Universal Binary sensor wrong temperature, no out
I have two of these devices working with Aeon Zstick interface (USB). It IS normal to see voltage on the sensor lines: these are digital ICs containing a sensor element but also analogue-to-digital converter, and bus interface logic. If you probe the sensor lines using an oscilloscope you will see ...

Re: OpenZwave & Fibaro Motion Sensor
Here is some direct information from my system about one of my two sensors: The Node ID is 002 (0x02). This is visible in the "Setup / Hardware / OpenZWave USB / Nodes-list" menu item. Also visible there is the identifier "FIBARO System FGMS001 Motion Sensor". If I click on this device entry line ...

Re: OpenZwave & Fibaro Motion Sensor
In my system, the following identification works (with two devices): 000700: Motion sensor, on or off. 000701: Temperature 000703: Light level (Lux) 000728: vibration / tamper switch The device does identify itself correctly in my system, and an appropriate configuration page is available. It is ...

Re: Aeon Labs S2 and Fibaro Wall Plug
Bonjour! It appears that your device is known to the controller, but has not yet been contacted for information regarding capabilities and status. I cannot give you a simple answer, but there are some things that you might try: (a) Click the "controller" line in the table, and look for the ...

Re: Smoke sensor devices
In my system the FGSS appears as follows: 00328 General (no obvious function) 00329 Smoke Alarm 0032c Heat Alarm 00332 Tamper Alarm 00333 Alarm Type (no obvious function) 769 Temperature (TFA 30.133) In my case I have alarm indicators assigned to 329, 32c and I do not bother with the tamper switch ...

Re: Samsung Smart TV (on or off)
Understood about the intelligent query - much better solution if available. My old (series 6) Samsung does not appear to expose a web-page or a command-line interface. I don't think (?) it has any SNMP functionality either, but that might be worth a check? This is outside my (current) expertise ...

Re: Howto use StellaZ in Domoticz? SetPoints...
I have a similar arrangement to yours. I would be very interested to know if it is possible to use a "scene" to select a particular set of "set point temperatures"; this might answer your second use-case conveniently. Alternatively, is it possible to program a list of set points depending on the ...

Re: Samsung Smart TV (on or off)
Probably "YES". My TV (old one now) will not respond to a "ping" when it is in standby, but WILL respond when "on". You can use a script to ping the TV occasionally and to set the state of a dummy switch. This is described in a separate part of the wiki under "presence detection". The script is ...

Re: Z-wave - new deployment (Zwave.me UZB, FGMS001, TZ88E)
Interesting experience - I hope it goes well!
In my system, the FGMS001 shows a tamper switch alarm which, in some operating modes, can act as a vibration sensor. Perhaps this is the source fo your "extra" switch?
