OpenZwave & Fibaro Motion Sensor

Post by cpighin »

:) I need help to understand how to proceed on using a Fibaro Motion Sensor with Domoticz.

I included the device and this is the list of my devices just after the inclusion Image
The image shows:
- dev 0000301 PresaCamPranzoSwitch1 and 0000302 PresaCamPranzoSwitch2 (2 items for a Double Switch Fibaro included before and fully operating)
- dev 0000700 Sensor, dev 0000703 Unknown, dev 0000728 General that I imagine should be items of my Motion Sensor.

Knowing that such a device is able to send to the RaZberry: motion detection, temperature, lighting, battery status,
I ask:
1) why I see only 3 items instead of 4?
2) which device should associate to a single function (motion detection, temperature, lighting, battery status) and how to do?
3) is a detailed guide available for this issue?

Claudio :)

1 when the items did not report yet they do not show ( in my case, a year ago)
2), is described in manual isn't it?

Check the settings on reporting frequency of the device itself. These settings can take up to an hour (or more?) to apply when the device is sleeping

:) Thanks pvm

for your reply. Nevetless I have to insist on asking an answer to my questions since I have not found suitable information in any manual or guide I have seen.

So I repeat my questions:

1) why I see only 3 items instead of 4?
2) which device should associate to a single function (motion detection, temperature, lighting, battery status) and how to do?
3) is a detailed guide available for this issue?

1) I don't know another answer

2) misread, I thought you wanted to associate groups. Agree this is not totally clear, but looking at what these devices report helps, temperature, lux, switch. Doing a test with motion and tamper should help. A more wizard like interface would be nice

For pvm:
Let's try to do a step togheter :)
Looking at information in the image of post 1, what device you would suggest to test for temperature measuring: dev 0000700 Sensor, dev 0000703 Unknown or dev 0000728 General?

For all readers with experience on Fibaro motion sensor:
can you share your experience with such a device driven by Domoticz?

I'm sorry, I am not at home now, otherwise i could have looked up my own device codes. Looking at your screenshot:
601 temperature (it mentions temperature units)
603 is light (it mentions lux units)

And i think 628 is motion detection and 600 tamper detection (might be the other way around, needs a test to verify) They are both switches
Battery status is reported on these devices. If i remember correctly, only one device shows battery status, others stay at 100. looks like 601 is reporting the battery status (the battery column on the right).

In my system, the following identification works (with two devices):

000700: Motion sensor, on or off.
000701: Temperature
000703: Light level (Lux)
000728: vibration / tamper switch

The device does identify itself correctly in my system, and an appropriate configuration page is available. It is complicated, so be prepared to adjust...

In my experience, sending a new configuration can be slow. To speed this up, I suggest that you open the device and trip the internal switch a few times after you send any command. This ensures proper waking up followed by command reception. The same action helps in reading back the configuration.

I hope this is what you are looking for!

:) I apologize: I just now realized That I used a wrong image in the 1st post.
The correct one is this:Image

For pvm: please write again your comment with reference to the above image ;)

For Tony: thanks for your tips.
1) Where can I find the "appropriate configuration page" for a Fibaro motion Sensor and how to configure it?
2) Can you show the imagine of your device table (olny the relevant part)
?

What should I do, mbliek?

I know the possibility of changing parameters, but I don't think I need this for the moment (I'm a newbie and I prefer to maintain default data) .

Since Tony wrote of an "appropriate configuration page" for a Fibaro motion Sensor, I thought to a file to download and adapt to my need. I'm I wrong?

:) I think that at this point is relevant for me the help of Tony or other people with direct experience on managing a Fibaro Motion Sensor with Domoticz.

Comparing Tony's information

with what I see in my table of Devises:
0000700 Sensor,
0000703 Unknown,
0000728 General
I note that:
- his devices have 6 digits instead of 7 (it may be an editorial issue),
- his series of devices (000700...) and mine (0000700...) have as main element device ....700 (this could be a lucky coincidence or Tony has kindly adjusted his codes to help me!)
- In my series of Devices the 701 is missing and I'm asking the reason for this :o

I'm really interested to evaluate the image of the devices table posted by Tony or other person who manages a Fibaro Motion Sensor with Domoticz.

I see these numbers in your screenshot:

0000700: Motion sensor, on or off.
0701: Temperature
0000703: Light level (Lux)
0000728: vibration / tamper switch

Mine Fibaro Motion sensor reports these weird numbers:

0000200: Motion sensor, on or off.
513: Temperature
0000203: Light level (Lux)
0000228: vibration / tamper switch

A couple of versions of the device exist (mentioned on the fibaro site) they may report different numbers?
For me it's all clear (without testing) which value represents what function. If people post their firmware versions you can write a list on the wiki page with supported devices or some other nice spot

FWIW, mine are -

0000D00: Motion sensor, on or off.
0D01: Temperature
0000D03: Light level (Lux)
0000D28: vibration / tamper switch
Zwave - Sigma Z+ stick, Fibaro, Horstmann, Neo Coolcam, EUROtronic
RFlink - IR detectors and temperatures
Wifi - YeeLights, ESP32s, Anoop sockets
Zigbee - lots with zigbee2mqtt and ZbBridge

The'7' or 'd' are not part of the function definition, each devices shows its functions in its own series

I'm getting confused :(

In my opinion all devices/funcions releted to a Motion Sensor should belong to the same series (ex: 0000700, 0000701, 0000728 ...) and dev 0701 does not belong to 0000700 series.

I woul guess that device 0701 or 0D01 or 513 (or other similar) do not belong to a Motion Sensor but to the RaZberry module (which detects the module temperature). Am I wrong?
