Re: Cheap WiFi LED dimmer (~10$)

I just stumbled upon this topic today, so my apologies for bumping such an old topic. I'm looking for small, cheap dimmers that work with Domoticz, preferably being able to handle the standard 12v and 14v stuff, but also 5v LED strips (I got my hands on a few very cheap ones). I think this dimmer ...

Fedora 25 install tutorial

While working on my QuinLED project ( or see here ) and making a new tutorial on how to use QuinLED within Domoticz, I decided to also make a video about installing Domoticz on a fresh Fedora 25 server! I go through all the steps from downloading the source from GitHub to creating a user and startup ...

Re: Cheap WiFi LED dimmer (~10$)

I just released an update to my QuinLED board bringing it to version 2.6! This version changes some of the design again, optimizes the layout, adds 2 screw holes, adds a working resistor layout and is able to handle a higher power load! Check out the blog post about the new revision of the board ...

Re: Cheap WiFi LED dimmer (~10$)

Is there some updated LED dimmer available @quindor ? I recently released a v2.5 board. These are working great (there was a snafu with the resistors on them but my previous boards didn't have them anyway and it is still the best design, just leave the resistor spots empty). You can find it over ...

Re: Building my own network controlled LED dimmer

I have made 2 new posts in this series, so I'm making a new post about it. ;) The first about which components you need, the board, files, etc.. And the second about the tools you need to solder it together and a 30 minuten soldering tutorial video trying to show that it's actually quite easy to ...

Re: Building my own network controlled LED dimmer

I'm reviving this topic because I'm creating a new series of video's about QuinLED, my ESP8266 PWM WiFi LED dimmer which I use in combination with Domoticz to control my LED lighting. The revive or revisit of the series will be done in several new blog posts with youtube videos detailing exactly ...

Re: Cheap WiFi LED dimmer (~10$)

It seems the unit becomes unresponsive after a while (a day or so). I'm not sure if it responds to ping.... unplugging power and plugging it back in again gets it working again. Any tips for this? Maybe it would be possible to create a .sh script (to be called from cron at the Raspberry) to reboot ...

Re: Cheap WiFi LED dimmer (~10$)

Maybe it's an idea te sell some complete sets ? Or is there somebody interested tot buy the needed parts together with me, i dont need 10 PCB's or 20 voltage regulators for example The boards come per 10, nothing you can do there. And they actually turn into 20 with the new v2 board. But it's ...

Re: Cheap WiFi LED dimmer (~10$)

Thanks for your reaction. I found out the TIP120 is a current driven transistor, while the STP16NF06L is a voltage driven MOSFET. Two completely different things. Not gonna work :p For now i was just testing it on a prototyping PCB, mabe i will buy a PCB from you one day ;) P.S. I also noticed that ...

Re: Cheap WiFi LED dimmer (~10$)

On this page: http://blog.quindorian.org/2014/12/esp8266-wifi-led-dimmer-part-1-of-x_30.html you show this PCB: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-K72__4mWmWM/VKK__JSaAWI/AAAAAAAADI0/xErDb68DDHA/s1600/PCB.png It contains two resistors. Unfortunately i can't find anywhere on that page (or others) what the ...

Re: Building my own network controlled LED dimmer

Any chance there will be coming an RGB version soon? Probably not anytime soon sadly enough. Also, at least in combination with Domoticz, the control protocol code would have to be re-written completely first, etc. Also, I'm often not even using 2 Mosfets, just one, so adding a third does not make ...

Re: Cheap WiFi LED dimmer (~10$)

ThinkPad wrote:Congrats! But i see the minimum quantity to order is 10pcs of the PCB... that is a bit too much, i only need one :P
It's 14$ including shipping (took 3 weeks for me)! That's cheaper then one board you can get somewhere else. ;)

Re: Cheap WiFi LED dimmer (~10$)

I soldered another board yesterday and it fully worked on both channels. That means now I have more working PCB's then not working PCB's, so I feel confident enough to share the design. It's a bit of a clunky design and v2 will be a lot better, but also more complex (using ESP-12). If you are going ...

Re: Cheap WiFi LED dimmer (~10$)

Whoops, this post was in Dutch. Here is the English version (Dutch kept below)! I have made an addition to my blog posts about how I have "hacked"/"modded" some Ikea lamsp with LED strips so that they are now dimmable using the ESP8266 PWM WiFi LED dimmer and thus controlable through Domoticz! Take ...

Re: [372] Dimmer with 1% resolution

Why would you need that? Can you see the difference between 50% brightness and 51% brightness with the naked eye ;) ? I am not stopping you from asking to implement it, but in a practical way i don't see the benefit of it. My dimmer implementation has 1024 values (0 to 1023), the way light and LED ...

[372] Dimmer with 1% resolution

The topic title says it all I guess. I'm building my own LED dimmer using LUA scripts (You can find all the information in this topic: http://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=4723). Currently the best resolution that is available is using a LightwaveRF dimmer which is able to do 3% steps ...

Re: Cheap WiFi LED dimmer (~10$)

Found it in your blog, didn't look good enough. Quite expensive after all.... €28 euro's or so for the crimping tool + ferrules... Yeah, the one I linked was a bit expensive, also the ferrules I linked where a bit too, but that's because it's 1000 pieces. Both aren't needed to complete the project o ...
