Separate Aurel Transmitter and Receiver for RFLink?

Post by john316 »

Newbie RLlink Q: Although the RFLink shield is not expensive, I'm curious if it is possible to use the Aurel TX-4MSIL and Aurel RX-4M50RR30SF because I have them laying around and it seems like a waste to not using them... I bought them to use for a NODO project but I never did build it.

Thanks for the great work on the RFLink project!

Yes! No problem at all.
You could wire like this:

Aurel TX-4MSIL:
Pin 1: Antenna (get a 433mhz antenna or use a wire of 16.8 cm)
Pin 2: (data) to Arduino D14
Pin 3: to Arduino ground
Pin 4: (vcc) to Adruino D15

RX-4M50RR30SF:
Pin 2: to Arduino ground
Pin 3: Antenna (get a 433mhz antenna or use a wire of 16.8 cm)
Pin 7: to Arduino ground
Pin 10: (vcc) to Adruino D16
Pin 11: to Arduino ground
Pin 13: not connected
Pin 14: (data) to Arduino D19
Pin 15: (vcc) to Adruino D16

Image

TX > VCC to Arduino Mega D15
TX > GND to Arduino Mega GND
TX > Data to Arduino Mega D14
TX > Antenna 16.8 cm wire

RX > VCC to Arduino Mega D16
RX > GND to Arduino Mega GND
RX > Data to Arduino Mega D19
RX > Antenna 16.8 cm wire
