rfxtrx: losing sensor connection after replacing the old one

Post by epierre »

Hello,

For some time (some months now) I keep on losing the sensor when replacing the old one.

For example this morning I added in the UI the live sensor in device (not used) then replaced the old one anf from this moment it stopped receiving data and a new one poped up in the unused devices.

I kept on updating toward latest domoticz beta with no improvements.

I have this for two Temp+Hum from oregon scientific. any idea of the issue ?

Not sure if I follow you a 100% but

- first connect the device to your computer and use the RFXMngr application to see everything is correctly received and the correct protocols are enabled
- next connect the RFXtrx to your domoticz system, make 100 sure you have a powerfull USB adapter if you use a raspberry PI or simular..
- make sure in domoticz you have only configured one RFXtrx hardware
- in domoticz use the serial/by-id as communication port, avoid using /dev/ttyUSBxx as they might switch after a reboot
- make sure that you have entered 0 as data timeout

In the settings , enable 'accept new hardware for 5 minutes (or just enable it)), make sure your (two) sensors are received, next disable accept new hardware

Now everything should continue to work just nicely!
Quality outlives Quantity!

Hello,

I did exactly what you said before with no result.

my system has 20+ rfxtrx oregon and alike. The only thing I've never done in 10 years is to push the reset button on the device while changing battery.

hmmm... behavior since Stable 2022.1 ... seems it is something I've not seen before will try this
