Moving from raspberry pi 3 to 4

Post by jandirkv »

Hi,

I’ve searched the forum but could not find my answer. I now run the latest stable version of domoticz on a raspberry pi 3. Can I simply put my sd card in a raspberry pi 4 and turn it on or do I need to reinstall everything?

Thanks

It depends. When I did that a few months ago, I decided to do a fresh install since I already did 2 major OS release upgrades so better to start clean. If you are running the latest OS with updates, you are probably OK. Best to make a copy of the disk first. Also, AFAIK, you will need a new bootloader as 3 and 4 are not compatible.
