Upgrade to latest Beta completely ruined my Z-wave config

Post by reneklomp »

Decided to upgrade to latest Beta as there were some issues in Evohome integration (showing offline constantly). After upgrade some things were not working properly anymore so decided to put back my latest stable release and backed up config/scripts/database.
However, whatever I try to do now, only a couple of nodes come back up in the list of hardware. It looks like my whole setup is completely ruined. Also going back to Beta doesn't help. Also there only a couple of nodes come back up!
In the Beta, my z-stick shows having v1.6 whereas going back to latest stable release it shows having v1.4.
What is wrong?? This whole config has been working fine for many, many months and now seems completely ruined by latest Beta!!!

Domoticz beta uses openzwave v1.6, stable uses v1.4. These are not compatible as you've noticed. Without resetting every device you can only continue in beta now. Instructions were given (can't remember where exactly, so no url) to delete your cached ozw files before starting domoticz. So to fix this now, stop domoticz, make sure you have domoticz beta installed, then delete the cached files created by domoticz from your Config folder. Now, when you start Domoticz beta for the first time it will have openzwave re-inquire all devices which will take a very long time depending on the number of nodes in your network. Plus, it will mostly only work for mains powered devices. After all mains powered devices have been queried (setup button in the zwave entry in the hardware list has gone from red to blue), check that all mains powered devices are identified correctly (id and type not equal to 0x0000). Any nodes that have 0x0000? Select that node, then click the button on the bottom of the list, in the middle. It has something like "renew node info" on it. Now wait for the device to be requeried again. (check the log to see what happens). If this still doesn't give you proper id and type values, select 'add sensor' for the node management menu, then start the inclusion procedure on your device (most of the times something like pressing a button 3 times on the device and do NOT exclude the device before you do this: re-including an existing node will assign the same id). If it still doesnt work, the device may not be supported, you'll have to skip it for later. After all mains powered devices are done, do the same for your battery powered devices. Always start with the device closest to your controller and work your way through all of them one-by-one to the ones furthest away. Some devices will however be to far from the controller to make the direct connection needed for the inclusion process: the include process window in domoticz will keep spinning even after you've pressed the button 3 times on the device. You will have to either bring such devices closer to the controller to complete the inclusion, or alternatively you can bring the controller closer to such devices.
