Z-Wave Radiator-valve recommendation ?

Hey Guys,

Anyone here uses a Z-wave compatible radiator-valve ?

I like to get 1 or 2 but i want to know for sure that if you use the valve to change temperature, it also changes in Domoticz.

Anyone got a recommendation for which one to use/get ?

I have 1 stellaz and I am happy with it. I switch it manually on and off. No reall temp controll needed, just prevent it from getting too cold.

I'm moving to danfoss LC-13.... got 1... but I discover my pipe valves are to old and not compatible and I do need to replace them

just waiting for the end of winter season to replace them

Thanks for the replies so far.

I want the valve to be operated manually and from domoticz.
That's why i wanted to know that if you change the temperature on the valve, with the dial, the new temperature-setting will be reflected in domoticz.

Looks like the StellaZ can't be used "the old fashion way"

Was thinking of the "Eurotronic Comet Z-Wave".

LC-13 allow what you need...

it created 2 devices:
- a Clock device (quite useless in Domoticz)
- a setpoint thermostat

if you act the thermostat it will apply to the local display
if you act the local display, it will apply to the Domoticz Device


it just miss the temp it feels... but I understood that information in not provided at all from LC-13

I'm using Popp Radiator Thermostat: http://www.popp.eu/thermostat/
It's the same as Danfoss LC-13 but with different firmware and it reports the temperature back to the controller.
Using 9 of these at home

When you use these devices, do you need to make changes to your heating system? Currently I have a central thermostat device in my living room that controls the ground level floor heating and when that is switched on, the radiators on the first and second floor also work. But when the central heating is switched off, the radiators don't work.

Small question about these, do they maintain its valve position, or do they just fully open when heating needed, and when matched, fully close ? Or, can they maintain temperature by keeping valve open 50% or such ?

In my case it's the latter. When I set the temp to 28 celsius (ie 100%) - then it's keeping it on 100% (the overall temperature won't be 28 celsius though), when i set to 22 then it's only warm (let's say it's 25%) and when set to 24 it's somewhere (50%). 16 is 0%.

Here 4 Popp valves , works verry good , with Nest thermostat , second step is to operate them with the Smart Virtual Thermostat who already controls the floorheating of the shower

SVT is not a good solution for controlling thermostatic valves. It’s designed for On/Off valves, whereas Popp valves are proportional.
