domoticz install on orangepi does not start automaticly

Hi there,

i want to use a orangepi with domoticz. I have installed raspbian on the orangepi and used this install wiki everyhting is good, but it will not start automaticly. When i go to the ip adress it keeps saying Domoticz offline.

The only thing i am not sure about are these settings.

USERNAME=pi
DAEMON=/home/$USERNAME/domoticz/$NAME
DAEMON_ARGS="-daemon -www 8080"

The username for orangepi is orangepi, so i use DAEMON=/home/orangepi/domoticz/domoticz

then when i am finished i use this command

sudo service domoticz.sh start

then it shows nothing and just reveales a new line...

When i want to check the status of the install to see if it is running i use this command

sudo service domoticz.sh status

But again, it does nothing, it just shows a new line. When i try this on a raspberry pi it gives me some line where it states that domoticz is up and running.
I am no programmer, so i know there is a mistake somewhere....i just need to be pointed in the right direction.

Hello Iwan,

1) the file you must edit is /etc/init.d/domoticz.sh
and not the copy in /home/pi/domoticz (or orangepi maybe).

2) where is located the executable domoticz ?
if this executable is in the /home/pi/domoticz then
USERNAME=pi

if this executable is in the /home/orangepi/domoticz then
USERNAME=orangepi

that way, you can let the line unchanged :
DAEMON=/home/$USERNAME/domoticz/$NAME

the orangepi seem a good alternative to the raspberry, are you happy with it ?
what are your impressiosn ?

And you can enable logging to debug the start of Domoticz. You may have an error of some kind.

I have read that raspberry images are compatible with orange pi.
you may try to put an image with dz already installed (http://sourceforge.net/projects/domoticz/files/) on an sd card (using Win32DiskImager), put the sd card in your orange pi, and boot and maybe - with some luck...
