Action Promax

Post by Talos »

I recently bought the Promax switches at Action. I can't seem to get them to work with my RFXtrx433E.
I just checked with RFXmngr and the devices behave exactly as described here viewtopic.php?f=49&t=9972, but this thread is for rflink...
I read that there is a fix for rflink, so I'm wondering if there is a fix for the RFXtrx433E? Anyone who also bought them?

The PROmax module has a dedicated protocol and RFXCOM is working on a solution.

By having PROmax being mentioned in that list means that it is work in progress or does it mean it is implemented?

I just updated to this firmware, still I can not make it work. I could do something wrong here of course. But the remote is visible with both ARC and AC, but switching it on and off, does not work. I have the Promax 75006.14 RC50075

Ext2 firmware has the IT protocol for PROmax On/Off modules and FA500 On/Off and dimmer modules.
Domoticz has also the IT On/Off and IT Dimmer device implemented.
The remote transmits 3 protocols: ARC, AC and IT as Lighting4. ARC and AC can be used in Domoticz as IT receive is not implemented in the RFXtrx.

In Domoticz create manually an IT On/Off module and select a random ID and unit code (different from 0)
Put the module in learning mode,
Push the Test button in Domoticz or transmit an On command to add this Domoticz "remote" in the module. (up to 5 remotes can be added)

Note:
To remove a remote from a module, put the module in learning mode and transmit an Off command.
To remove all remote from a module, put the module in learning mode and transmit an All Off command.
Unit code 0 of the Domoticz IT device transmits an All On or All Off command.

Try to make a manual switch (left side) instead of the learn option (right side). If the PROmax have been linked to the remote, switch the wall plug on then pull it out, plug it back in and press OFF on the remote, this will unlink your remote. Also the Led starts blinking which means it is available for pairing. Then quickly add the switch as per above, press 'Test' button and Domoticz sends out a signal to the wall plug and it works (in my case).

First install the firmware RFXtrx433_Ext2_1001.hex Or newer

If the PROmax have been linked to the remote, switch the wall plug on then pull it out, plug it back in and press OFF on the remote, this will unlink your remote. (thanks jvilly)

(1) Create a manual button (left side)

(2) Set Type to IT

(3) Make ID to 01 and 02 (Use not 00 and 00) otherwise you can use any code

(4) Set Unit Code 1 or 2 or 3 ..........

Now do not use the remote control

(5) Set the switching unit into the wall socket, the LED will blink, and push quickly the test button, before the flashing stops.

(6) Add device

If your the unit accidentally unplugged
Then this is not a problem. Place the unit (connect) the LED flashes again
Press the switch 2 times and the unit will work again with the same code

If you look in the log file you will see an error message when switching the switch.
What are the consequences I do not know this.

I tested this with both firmware the release 1001 from rfxtrx433e ext and the rfxtrx433e ext2

1) You do not use RFXtrx433E from RFXCOM

How do I send a Unit code 0 of the Domoticz IT device transmits an All On or All Off from Domoticz ??
