Re: enever output
Then you, as the error describes, created a text device for the Ënever Price Sensor" instead of a custom sensor as the dzvents script expects. Or you have 2 devices (a text sensor and a custom sensor) with exactly the same name, DzVents cannot handle that.

Re: enever output
OK, so I removed the text device and created a custom sensor. Problem has gone away... thanks for the help!

Re: enever output
As most providers now use quarterly prices, will the Enever plugin be adapted to display quarterly prices instead of hourly prices?
Sorry. Me again. Acting before diving into the wiki.
Here is the answer.
As in most cases the developers have already implemented everything.

Re: enever output
A small issue I am struggling with.
I am using the dzvents script to analyze the daily prices, and find the sweet spot during which it is most economic to charge the battery of my PHEV.
Thought I had it covered, it came back usually with 2 or 3 hours in the afternoon.
But on several occasions it came back with a window ending at 24:00! It has happened a few times, but usually not. Can't rely on this method. And I'm not sure what causes this behaviour (I'm not a dzvents expert).
Can someone help me find an algorithm that will yield the start- and end-time of the economic sweet spot?

Re: enever output
Tips, anyone? How can I find the most economic window for charging, based on the Enever file?

Re: enever output
I started with the script in the second post in this thread, slightly modified it to keep the first and last hour of the "cheap" window.RonkA wrote: Tuesday 27 October 2026 18:18whitch script are you using?I am using the dzvents script to analyze the daily prices

Re: enever output
In my script the cheapest periode is just the hour with the lowest price and all further hours with prices that are within 1,05 cent of this..
Its that simple, so sometimes there is a day with 6+ hours of the cheapest range and someday there are 2 cheap hours.. (or just the one hour..)
I imagine you could use minCents to trigger a switch 'on' when the 'cheap' hour is starting and trigger 'off' if the new hour is not 'cheap' anymore..
But that is just a realtime swich without a 'predicting the future' algorithm.
i don't have an electric car so i dont know about chargetime needed..
Code: Select all
if centsValue == minCents then
centsText = centsText .. ' <span style="background-color:#5cb85c; color:black; padding:0px 2px; border-radius:3px;">▼</span>'
end
if minCents < centsValue and centsValue <= (minCents + 1.05) then
centsText = centsText .. ' <span style="background-color:#5cb85c; color:white; padding:0px 2px; border-radius:3px;">▼</span>'

I don't want a "realtime" switch, but simply want to keep the first and last hour indication for an economic window.RonkA wrote: Wednesday 28 October 2026 14:45 In my script the cheapest periode is just the hour with the lowest price and all further hours with prices that are within 1,05 cent of this..Its that simple, so sometimes there is a day with 6+ hours of the cheapest range and someday there are 2 cheap hours.. It worked, until I got a winow starting very early, and ending at 24:00... I suppose it is possible, but not very likely.
As for your script: I see several posts with scripts. Would it be possible to post the latest-and-greatest?

Re: enever output
i think you are referring to this day: 2026-10-22, 23:00 had the lowest price and the second lowest was 25.3 cent; so over the 1,05 cent treshold.
I don't know how to tackel that problem for this kinda day..
