Move from RPI B+ to RPI2

Post by tcviper »

Hello all,

Has anyone tried moving an existing working SD Card install of domoticz (latest beta build) from RPI B+ model to the new RPI2?
Does anyone know what the steps would be to make it work again or it it will just work as is?

Thx.

Try making a backup of the database on the RPi B+(under settings "Restore/Backup" tab). Then install a fresh installation (see WIKI) and then import the backed up databases from the RPi B+.

I moved from a Raspberry Pi B (512MB) to a Raspberry PI 2B (1MB) simply by moving the microsd card (which, on the R pi B, was in an SD adapter).
It worked instantaneously, but much faster

If you need to copy the SD card to a microsd, this can be done with Win32Diskimager. First "read" the SD card to do a backup, then restore it on a microsd of the same (or higher) capacity.

Does this work without any other step's needed? - Like formatting the new microsd card first/installing raspberian first on new card?!

I'm about to do this in the next few days.
Now setup on a RPI3.
Also using Evohome HGI80, RFXTRX433E and a Aeotec Gen5 stick. Mainly a Gen5 Z-Wave system.
My weather (Davis vantage Pro2) data is obtained by weatherunderground
Now collecting rtl_433 data from Apollo Ultrasonic meter

Wind32diskimager will format the sdcard as needed.
So no extra steps needed :D
