New iOS App for domoticz

Post by LanWolf »

Wel after install a few quick notes:

Scenes are shown as switches, and no status is pulled.

It starts with the verbruik screen, please make a sort of home screen with favorites, or let the user chose his startup screen.

The list of switches is long, maybe make the room choosable from the top bar?

I don't know if you know the home wizard app? They had a top with 2 rows of icons with favorite temp, usage, alarm, motion things. Then followed by the dashboard, with favorites (scenes, switches and other)
That was one of the most informative screens I ever saw on startup of an home automation app on my phone/ipad

0.5(6)
In the favorites extension, it does not show correct status, lights which are on are shown off, although they are shown correct I the app.
No sliders for dimming are shown, it's that correct?
In favorites only switches are shown, is that correct?

I would like to select which lights/scenes are shown, showing all favorites and all scenes is bit to much for a widget imho.

Sliders are available when you push the switch.

I can't read my electricity which comes from my other raspberry , but is installed as an device on the control raspberry.

Will do some checks this evening !

I like the way the sliders only appear when you switch a dimmer on.

I don't have gas, and my electricity has 3 different single phase supplies so I need to be able to customise the Usage page, as currently it displays nothing. How do I configure it?

The simple switches work well for Groups on the Scenes page with Group On / Off being obvious, but don't work for Scenes as I always get a "Connection to domoticz has been lost - Please review your settings". Probably Scenes should be a push button which bounces back after being pushed.

I have a lot of switches both virtual and real, so swapping between Scene and Switches pages is quite slow, it would appear Domotix is not caching the switches, really want instant page change, even if updating of the page takes a few seconds.

Great start, as others have said some configuration options to allow seclection of subsets of switches, customise start-up screen and create a favourites pages is needed.

Thanks, Simon

Hi,

This is great! I was testing the geolocation and it's awesome!

Only thing is that I had to restore my phone, and the app is gone from testflight. Would you be able to add me back on?

Cheers

I'm using the app for a week now and I'm loving the switches in the today-screen. There is no faster access to my switches than this way!

I thought it was mentioned before, but I would suggest to cache the switches and states. Now there is a slight delay when opening the today pane.

Love the latest version and the 'usage' :)

One thing though.....I might be overlooking something, but how do I use the location services? I can set my location, but how can I let a certain switch be switched with this app?

Edit: found it :)

Other question: how can I get the switches on my homescreen (iPhone) ?

The switches on the today section are awesome! Can you dim lights with them? would be nice if you could swipe the section to control the brightness :)

Go to the Today section (swipe down from the top) then go to edit, you will be able to edit what is widgets gets shown.

How did you get the location services working? Am I right in assuming that I need be in the area first to set it up? or can i search for a location?

Ok, that worked :)

You have to make the virtual switch you want to be set, a 'motion sensor'-switch. If you do that, Domotix will recognize it and you can select it.

All looks very promising, looking forward to the release, especially the Today screen widget - this is something I really miss from the iConnectHue app, which I think they have absolutely nailed as it allows on/off, scene recall and dimmer control.

I would like the posibility to see times is that possible?
For example, when you click on a door sensor a list will open with times of open and close.

I'm still having issues with the location services. Its most probably me not using it correctly.

I've selected the sensor and set the location, but the sensor does not switch to on if im in that location.....

any idea?

Did you allow domotix to track your location, when you were first asked? Check your (iPhone's) Settings -> domotix -> location (it should say always)
