Bookworm

Post by akamming »

I noticed there is a new pi os available (bookworm). Is Domoticz already supported on bookworm?

In other words:
- Can i safely upgrade my system, or should i wait till it's supported?
- And if i upgrade: Are there attention points i need to take into account?

Domoticz should run on Bookworm, no reason why it should not.

tx, but also fully tested and supported on bookworm?

Reason i'm asking that it is a big hassle to upgrade, so want to be 100% sure i can fix forward if there are any issues...

If I search the forum I see people are using Domoticz on bookworm so a presume it works.
I dont know if it is officially tested, I suspect not as there is no official OS test. It depends on reports from other users reporting it works.

So it could well be that in the peripheral of Domoticz (bash/python/services) it could lead to issues. I already read about Bookworm it needs some special settings for some devices or python installs. But has in general nothing to do with Domoticz.

Perhaps buy a new SD card and install everything from new so you have a backup.

There are some issues with libssl.so.1.1 since bookworm is using libssl.so.3*
Better search for libssl.so.1.1 on this forum first before upgrading.

Transfer everything to Docker, Bookworm runs here on a Raspberry 4.
