Warning for Beta Users version > 15229
Hi all,
If you upgrade to beta, version 15229 or newer. (Currently version 15230 has been published), you might notice, that a new functionality has been introduced.
See: https://github.com/domoticz/domoticz/co ... evelopment
Implemented: Users with admin rights and selected devices will now see only those devices
This means that, if you have configured some of your devices for that specific user as a selected option, you will not see the non-selected devices in your UI. In first instance you might think that some devices has disappeared with the new release.
If this happens to you:
1. Go to "About" and check the "Active User"
2. Go to "Users" and select the "Active User" from step 1
3. Click "Set Devices" for that "Active User"
4. Check, if there are "selected options" (It should show "no selected option")
If you see that specific devices are selected, while there are still devices in "available options", you will noticed that only the devices in "selected option" are visible in the UI. So, if you want to see all devices "selected option" should be empty or all devices should be moved to "selected option".
Regards

Re: Warning for Beta Users version > 15229
I updated the wiki pages for this.
First do not use an admin account for device sharing as that is not safe...

Re: Warning for Beta Users version > 15229
Thanks for the update but the trap was IMO more with devices visibility. I was warned so I removed all admin stuff on the right side before upgrading so no no head scratching for me.
On admin accounts side, talking about security, this would IMO be nice to have a way to limit access to LAN or some IP ranges. This was indirectly possible in the past but no more since users management rework.

Especially for an admin you have to clear the list (make it empty) else you see also only the assigned devices in the normal device list (menu setup - devices).FireWizard wrote: ↑Saturday 06 May 2023 19:00 So, if you want to see all devices "selected option" should be empty or all devices should be moved to "selected option".

Thanks for the warning @FireWizard! Came here to find a solution for the "bug" and it turned out to be a feature

Strange function when you are hiding things for the only user.
After an update all is gone and you have to find back your hardware.
Sorry, I am lost.

It is a consequence of making Domoticz more secure. Using an admin account for device sharing is not secure.

To add, for and admin user, use the remove all devices option.geradflopme wrote: ↑Sunday 16 July 2023 14:19 To summarize the steps to resolve any issues related to missing devices in the UI after the upgrade:
Go to "About" and verify the "Active User."
Navigate to "Users" and select the "Active User" identified in step 1.
Click on "Set Devices" for the selected "Active User."
Check whether there are any "selected options." It is expected to show "no selected option" for this setting.
If specific devices are listed under "selected options" while there are still other devices listed under "available options," only the devices in the "selected option" category will be visible in the user interface. To view all devices again, you can either remove all devices from "selected option" or move all devices to "selected option."

Re: Warning for Beta Users version > 15229
I am a user (not an ADP guru) so my apology up front.
After the update to Version: 2023.2 there was a bit panic.
My scripts (still on the HDD) where not visable,
Scenes where there but could not be editted.
Logout did not help it brought me back to the dasboard.
etc. etc.
reading the topics did not solve a thing (wait a sec)
What helped... I use Firefox, I cleared all the cookies and cashed (?) data within Firefox.
Problem solved

Yes, that is why I have a big red line in my signature linking to the Browser cache clear instructions: https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Browser_Cache
