Restore from 2020.2 (on DS215+) to 2023.1 (on DS718+) : Error opening serial port !

Hello, when I restore my DB on my new NAS DS718+ I have this error: 'Error sending switch command, check device/hardware (idx=nnn) !' may be the 'Error opening serial port is the cause'. But why ? /dev/ttyUSB0 is done for the RFXcom. Thank's for your help

Did you set the USB device correctly in menu Setup - Hardware - RFLink?
It probably changed name when using another Synology.
Is the USB driver working on your new Synology?

Yes, for me RFXtrx433XL is correctly set :

and USB is activated at reboot by a scheduler task.

So when do you get this error? What device is IDX=nnn? Is it related to Rfxcom?

Yes there seems to be a communication error with your USB device. I am not familiar with Synology but it seems that on newer Linux environments you have usb devices by IDwhat do you see when you open the Port pull down list from the hardware setting? Do you see more USB devices next to ttyUSB0?

I only saw /dev/ttyUSB0 nothing else !

When I list tty on the 2 NAS USB was 1-1 on DS215 but 3-1 on DS718.
May be it is the problem because DS215 have only 2 usb ports while DS718 have 3.

Too bad the /Dev/serial/ directory is for new Linuxes but not mine.

Congrats with your new Syno. I run Domoticz on a DS718 for years.

Two questions:

1: Can you tell us what version of DSM you run? 6.2 or 7.1
2: Are you running Domoticz in a Docker container?

@PieterS I installed the latest DSM 7.1 and yes Domoticz is under docker

... but on my DS215 Domoticz (jadhal) is installed on DSM 6.2.4

Your model was orginally delivered with DSM 6.2.. Updating to DSM 7.0 gave the "famous" problem you have.

In the WIKI of Domoticz ( https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Synology) there is an article how to solve your problem. I suggest you should have a look there. There is a link to https://github.com/robertklep/dsm7-usb-serial-drivers which seems hopefull to me.

As my Synology is still on 6.2 I cannot help you further on this subject. The problem you describe was the reason for me not to upgrade in the past. Maybe you can downgrade?

Did perform an upgrade on my DS920+ from DSM 6 to DSM 7. Faced two issues: 1) USB (for Z-wave and P1) like above not available and 2) Mosquitto not running. Implemented the solution of Bearded Thinker for USB (Search on YouTube for a video) and both are running fine now. For Mosquitto did a full remove (including data) and did a clean install of the new package. Also working fine.
Running Domiticz and Zwave-JSMQTT both under Docker.
