Installing Walli Dimmer in hotelschakeling/ changeover circuit

Post by Grover »

Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone ever placed the new Fibaro Walli dimmer in a 3 way
changeover circuit (in dutch wisselschakeling/Hotelschakeling).

Is this even possible and if so, how?

thx,

Yes it is possible. But not hardware/cable based. You can do it virtually over Z-wave

Simple version:
IF Switch1 = ON THEN Switch2 = ON
IF Switch2 = ON THEN Switch1 = ON
IF Switch1 = OFF THEN Switch2 = OFF
IF Switch2 = OFF THEN Switch1 = OFF

Is suppose he means with a script (Blockly, dzVents or Lua)
Domoticz running on Udoo X86 (on Ubuntu)
Devices/plugins: ZigbeeforDomoticz (with Xiaomi, Ikea, Tuya devices), Nefit Easy, Midea Airco, Omnik Solar, Goodwe Solar

It is possible to use a zwave/ZigBee/wifi dimmer with a change over wiring (dutch: hotel schakeling). The smart switch must however be an in-wall module, it can not be an "operatable" device like your walli module or the neo coolcam touch switches.

So, no, it can't be done with those walli switches, unless you're willing to use a software solution using your own script or you can use for example my auto-onoff script. The software solutions can however sometimes have a noticable delay. Plus if Domoticz doesn't work, the light can only be switched on or off using the 'master' switch.
