Upgrade to 2021.1 failed and restore resulted in lost devices!

Post by rgroothuis »

I tried to upgrade to the 2021.1 release, of course I made a backup of the SD card. The upgrade failed, no devices in the device list, nothing in the dashboard, so I cannot control any lights anymore etc. etc. So decided to switch back and restore the previous version. Strangely enough the device list is empty on the restored SD card. How is this possible?

I also tried to restore the DB from a backup I made in beginning March, but that also doesn't return the devices in the device list! Any suggestion?

The good thing is that the Dashboard is filled with all my devices and I can switch on/off the lights etc. etc.

I had quite similar.
During the upgrade, the upgrade stopped on 15% and switches are disappeared from Dashboard. Manual update by ./updaterelease did not change the visibility of switches.
Control is working, switches on and off. I can control them by Domoticz on phone.

Hi , I have almost the same experience.
When I installed the update, at about 30% it was done, and the web page of the monitoring gave every thing but not my devices.
The logging seems to start from the update time, and in the log is seems that the network connections and all the hardware is still responding.
On my phone, however: no devices.

Today , I started my PC, and suprizingly all the devices are there, and all the history is also there, however my phone doesn't have the devices.

Maybe domotics is more secure, and the devices should be added to a user or device...

I will check the release notes , maybe there is some info about the rights ;-)

Sounds like the usual problem: browser cache not cleared

It was cache problem. On wifi IP all was working ok. I did
From inside the Chrome browser browse to the following URL: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
Mark Cached images and Files and press the [Clear Data] button
and looks good.

Ok. Thanks for the feedback and confirmation. Will give this a try tomorrow on a spare SD card.

And can you confirm that clearing the cache solved the problem?

I also reboot the device after the DB restore. Most of the times for me the service stops after the restore and I manually need to start it or there are no devices. Rebooting the device seems to work for me afterwards.

Hello.
I upgraded to version 2021.1 on my raspberry4
In hardware I see my Aeotec OpenZwave gen5 stick . When pressing setup, the nodes are visible and have a valid NodeID.
However, in the setup-> devices tab, there are no devices present.
I've tried to include nodes and even reset the Aeotec controller and included the nodes from scratch but the devices remains empty.
What do i do wrong? Can anyone help me with this?
Also I can't activate (lua) scripts anymore in the events ... I see my scipts in the " my automation scrips" but the right panel is blue and only tabs on the top

Hope someone can help me out, many thnx in advance
Tony

Try the same thing from an incognito window. If it does work there, the problem is you did not properly reset the cache.
