Domoticz does not see device in Aeotec Z-stick

Post by Marnix »

Dear all,

My setup is a Windows 10 system, an Aeotec Z-stick Gen5 and one Fibaro wall plug.

The issue I have is that Domoticz does not “see” the wall plug.

Here’s the chain of actions that I did:

1. Added the wall plug to the Z-stick (press button on Z-stick until blue ring flashes, then press button on wall plug 3 times);
2. Installed Domoticz on Windows 10;
3. installed the drivers for the Z-stick;
4. As per the Domotics Wiki, installed a 32 bits Python;
5. Added the Z-stick under the Hardware menu in Domoticz as “Comm5 MA-4XXX/MI-XXXX Serial/USB interface”

Now, when I start Domoticz, as far as I can see in the log everything is fine (there are no errors):

But there are no devices in the devices menu. Actually, I expected that the Z-stick would tell Domoticz that it knows the Fibaro wall plug?

What puzzles me is that when I press the button on the wall plug, there’s a lot of framing errors added to the log. I tested several times and the framing errors are a direct result of pressing the button on the wall plug.

I tried the learn Light/Switch from the Switches menu, but as soon as I press the button on the wall plug, I get the framing error again.

I searched the forum and I found posts about including nodes and node management. E.g. “Setup=>Hardware=Z-Wave-Setup=>Node-Management=>Include Node”, but I don’t see these menu options in my Domiticz installation.

I don’t know what else to try. I hope that someone can help me out here.

Thanks for reading this.

Under Settings | Hardware do you have a device OpenZWave USB with a setup button next to it, if yes then click on Setup, Node Management top right and select Include Node and pair the wall plug

Thank you very much, Bigted. I selected the wrong hardware type. With OpenZWave USB It sees the wall plug and the Z-stick:

But now I have a follow up question. After adding the node, I get six new devices:

http://www.dropbox.com/s/ju4p4mgn5hs5pa ... s.JPG?dl=0

idx = 1 is the plug, clicking the light bulb turns it on and off.
I know the plug monitors the power, so I can explain idx 5 and idx 2. But what are the other 3, "previous event cleared" and unknown?

Any idea?

Thanks again for your help.
