It could be good to have some native notification system for the new alert sensor. I know we can handle that by script. But this will be more intuitive for lambda users ti have it natively in domoticz.
LEt's say options like minimum level of alert to fire the notification . And the notification will give the alert level and it's message.
By the way taht makes me think of something, we don't have the capability to customize those notifications message. The template seems harcoded in the code and is not multilangugae. I'm french and i would be grateful to help and give the translations for all notifications in domoticz. (Are you ok with tha gizmocuz ?)
An other possibility (and by far the best and unfortunately longest to code) would be to customize the notifications integrated in domotociz:
I mean for example i have a temp humdity sensor on which i added a notification for temps lower than 19:
I could write something like : Temperature in bedroom Alert (title)
The temperature in the bedroom is lower than 19°. It is actually $(currentvaluesensor).
This is only an example.
This feature would be great. But at least if you don't want to implement such a feature or while waiting the implementation, i would like to receive my notification in french (actually i bypassed that by not using the integrated sensor/switch notification system, and using lua script instead), but ii would be better to use the integrated system. So i'm really grateful to help if you want me to give you all the translations . As all the gui is really really nicely translated, only the notification aren't (i know it is surely because it is not I18n)

Re: Alert notification
I just added an alert sensor on my system. I agree, it would be usefull to be able to add notification for alert sensor.
I also agree for notification customization.
It would be great to avoid develop too much lua scripts so that domoticz could be configured by users that don't want to cod or don't know how to do.

Re: Alert notification
+1 on notifications on alerts. I am using alerts for QNAP monitoring and I would like to be notified, when drive condition changes or when RAID status changes.

Hi,
Is there any update about this feature ?
I tried to add a notification on an alert sensor with no luck.
Condition was: value < 2.
I never get mail notification.

Re: Alert notification
I realise this is an old topic but how do I get Notifications to work on an Alert Sensor?
I'd like to get an email whenever a sensor has a value of more than 0 I.e. No alert.
I can get notifications to work on a Custom Sensor based on the Value of the Custom Sensor. But that same technique isn't working for the Alert Sensor.
I am trying to trigger the Notification using Type Usage, When Greater 0.

What do you mean by 'the same technique' ?brucemiranda wrote: ↑Wednesday 05 February 2020 14:09 I'd like to get an email whenever a sensor has a value of more than 0 I.e. No alert.

How do you update the alert sensor ?
What is your domoticz version ?
Just tested this on V4.11671 and I receive an Email when
alertDevice is set to notify via Email on greater 1
and after I sent
json.htm?type=command¶m=udevice&idx=1016&nvalue=2&svalue=Test
Debian buster, bullseye on RPI-4, Intel NUC.

Re: Alert notification
My device is being updated within the Domoticz code (SendAlertSensor) and not via a json call.
I've seen that message notification processing was added whenever the AlertSensor is updated via a json call. So does that mean that notifications don't work for devices updated via code?
