(i made a floorplan in it a few years ago already, to see how my home was going to be. Now i only have to update it with more current furniture etc. (did it for the living room a bit already )

Re: How use Room Plan ?
I've taken some of the padding out of the nav bar when it gets tight for space, looks okay on my iPad (Build 2037). Another alternative is to set the Dashboard type to 'Floorplan' in the Settings page. This suppresses the Floorplans tab and saves nav bar space, useful if you don't use the default style Dashboard anymore.LanWolf wrote:@Dnpwwo
Thanks, that makes is a lot easier
another wanted feature might be to be able to add free movable texts to the plan ( so i can set a text by a scene button, and things like that)
Also the upper bar is double size with the Domoticz and buttons on my ipad, it hides the plan selection. Maybe it should go to small icons on tablets ?
Adding something like free text would be quite a change, I could optionally show the scene/group name instead of the state if that was useful.

Just a future would be cool feature I was thinking of today...
in the future im planning on having temperature sensors in every room, and it would be cool to have a colour map overlay.

@Dnpwwo
Bar looks good now on the ipad, i now see the floorplan fold out, and the rooms foldout on the dashboard menu.
is there another forum where we can discuss other layout observings/problems to keep this a for floorplan and not go to much off topic ?

Re: How use Room Plan ?
Updated floorplan editor in build 2042 to only include devices on a floorplan that are explicitly positioned on the image.
As visual feedback, devices that have yet to be included are still shown on the left but are only 50% opaque until they are dragged into position. To use this for existing rooms you will need to delete them and re-position the devices you want to show.
@LanWolf, There is a design/usability section on the forum, you could open a separate topic there.

Re: How use Room Plan ?
Not sure if this has been covered off already so apologies in advance....
When trying to define a room where I click doesn't seem to correspond to where it draws the room plan.... In the example below I actually clicked on the 4 corners of the basement at the ceiling height in each corner but you can see what ended up as being the room area.... Am I not doing it the correct way? I did try on IE and Chrome...

Re: How use Room Plan ?
@tommysharp, it hasn't been reported before and I haven't seen it before. Don't think you can do it the wrong way, just click and it draws a polygon
Its may be down to the size and/or shape of your image.
Can you try using the example image that ships with Domoticz and see if it works for you there? If it doesn't then it is probably a caching issue so clear the browser cache and see if that helps.
If it works on the example image but not yours then post or PM me your image and I'll try it.

Re: How use Room Plan ?
I had a similar problem. I noted that there was a recommended ratio for the image (1920 x 1080) so I resized mine with a similar ratio to suit those and all is now ok.

Re: How use Room Plan ?
@rhendriks, 16:9 images work well which mean 1920x1080, 1280x720 or even 853x480 should all fill the window well and look good. If you are using Domoticz over wireless then smaller is better. If you mean that the rooms of your floorplan is too small then define an area for the room and you can zoom in on it by clicking on it.
If that doesn't help then post an image showing your problem.

Re: How use Room Plan ?
Ok, when you said "its too small" you really meant "its too small"
I can't reproduce this on IE 8, IE 11, Firefox, chrome or iOS so I'm thinking its an IE 10 bug. Can you try upgrading to IE 11? That is one of the browsers I test against before releasing code.

Should be sorted in build 2053.
Some code got 'optimised' in the move to angularjs so I've 'de-optimised' again Let me know if this doesn't fix it.

Re: How use Room Plan ?
A useful link to a free 2D/3D online floor plan s/w. I did my ground floor to scale in 10 mins as I simply took a photo of my paper plans and uploaded as a background and 2 simple scale markers on the photo!

Dnpwwo wrote:First version of floorplan functionality committed today in build 1.1836. Be careful though some people (including me) have had trouble with Z-Wave devices not working as well in the last few Betas (not related to floorplan stuff).
I haven't put it into the site navigation yet until its been shaken out by some alpha-testers so have a look and let me know. Before you start you will need some 'Room plans' with some devices allocated to them, these are the same things that the dashboard uses so you probably already have some.
Then just follow these steps:
1. Add your floorplan image(s) to your Domoticz server somewhere under the www folder (I created a 'floorplans' folder under 'images')
2. Navigate to http://myserver:8080/#Floorplanedit and hit the 'Add floorplan' button. Enter the relative path to your image, mine was 'images/floorplans/Ground Floor.jpg' and supply a name. Repeat as required. You can tell if you got the filename right because the image will appear at the bottom when you click on the table row. 1920x1080 images work best because that is what I developed against, other sizes will work but the graphics may not be a good size (I'll do some more scaling work in an upcoming release).
3. The drop down above the image will have a list of unallocated Room Plans, click the Add button to add to the current floor, you can 'Delete' them later
4. To define a room, select a Room Plan from the table and click around the image where you want the room to be, the first click doesn't show anything but Don't Panic! because subsequent clicks will allow you to draw a polygon for your room, takes practice but use the 'Clear' button to wipe it out and try again. Click on the room itself to test out how it will zoom in on the main screen.
5. Devices allocated to the room should appear top left the first time, just drag them to where you want them (drag a bit slowly on Chrome otherwise it drops them). Updates are not applied until you hit the 'Update' button.
The main screen is at http://myserver:8080/#Floorplans. If you created more than one floor plan there will be navigation buttons at the top that cycle through plans, the order can be set back in the edit screen.
Like on the other device oriented pages the icons update regularly to reflect status, hovering the mouse over an icon (or clicking on one on a tablet) will popup a more detailed display (which will also update). Clicking on that display will either activate the device or jump to the log display page depending on the device type. Device support will be patchy for you at the start (its 100% for me ) but I can't tell what won't work because the code tries to use (semi-)intelligent defaults. To fix things I'll need:
1. A screen shot of what it should look like (from a different page)
2. A screen grab of what it does look like
3. If you can, the data that it uses. There a couple of ways to do this but the easiest (if you use Chrome) is to right-click on the popup in question and select 'Inspect Element' which gives you a page like this: Above the highlighted image tag is a list of devices and the first one up is the one you want (in my case "Lighting262"), make a note of that and then go further up to the 'g' tag called DeviceData, click on the triangle next to it and expand it and find the device with the same ID and copy the HTML (right click-> Edit->Ctrl-C). It will look like this:and I will add it.Code: Select all
{"AddjMulti":1,"AddjMulti2":1,"AddjValue":0,"AddjValue2":0,"BatteryLevel":255,"CustomImage":1,"Data":"On","Favorite":1,"HardwareID":2,"HardwareName":"OpenZWave","HaveDimmer":true,"HaveGroupCmd":true,"HaveTimeout":false,"ID":"0001801","Image":"WallSocket","IsSubDevice":false,"LastUpdate":"2014-07-22 22:15:56","Level":0,"LevelInt":0,"MaxDimLevel":16,"Name":"Garage Power Switch","Notifications":"false","Protected":true,"SignalLevel":7,"Status":"On","StrParam1":"","StrParam2":"","SubType":"AC","SwitchType":"On/Off","SwitchTypeVal":0,"Timers":"false","Type":"Lighting 2","TypeImg":"lightbulb","Unit":1,"Used":1,"UsedByCamera":false,"XOffset":"601","YOffset":"783","idx":"62"}
Please also post images of how you use it and what does work well so I can get a better feel what I need to change.
I'm stuck on step 1. Exactly how do i put my floorplanimages to the Domoticz server?
As you probably guessed, I'm not very good at linux...
Edit: Figured it out by myself, didn't know that Raspberry was ready for ftp...

Re: How use Room Plan ?
Just a quick post to share a solution to a problem I had with Chrome caching the floorplan image and not refreshing it when changed or by shift F5 etc.
The cache in <USER>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Application Cache\Cache is not cleared by "clear browsing history" and you need to delete the contents of this directory this to get the browser to download images again.
Cheers
