Aeotec Alarm 6 and Doorbell 6

Post by pimseb »

Hello

I'd like to buy an Aeotec Doorbell 6 (or alarm 6) but it seems not to work with domoticz yet.
Here is the official site of the device : https://aeotec.com/z-wave-doorbell/
This french online shop has tested it : https://www.domotique-store.fr/fr/domot ... &results=1
It seems impossible to include the device in domoticz.
How can we make it work ? Who shall we contact to add it in the supported devices Zwave list ?
Thank you

I have bought the siren 6 and it's possible to include the siren, but there is no configuration file and I cannot set the siren on status " ON". I get a error message: "Error sending switch command, check device/hardware !".

So I hope the siren will be supported soon, because this is the only siren with the options I need.

I'm running version 4.10717
I just ordered a doorbell 6 and I hope to receive it tomorrow.

In my manufacturer_specific.xml there is already the correct product id.
<Product type="0003" id="00a2" name="ZW162 Doorbell 6" config="aeotec/zw162.xml"/>
According to https://products.z-wavealliance.org/products/3292 .

So it should work out of the box.

Today I received my doorbell 6 and I was able to add it to domoticz out-of-the-box.

Please read this (https://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopi ... 28&t=28969) for further information. Doorbell 6 needs open z-wave 1.6 support which is currently not available in domoticz.

Kind regards,
Raymond

you could verify your domoticz/Config/manufacturer_specific.xml file
If necessary you could add a line under the correct manufacturer.
<Product type="0003" id="00a2" name="ZW162 Doorbell 6" config="aeotec/zw162.xml"/>

In the attachments you find mine and the corresponding zw162.xml file
After correcting the files you should remove de doorbell and then re- add it again.

Then it should work correctly.

Kind regards,
Raymond.

Doorbell is added now, but only a lot of parameters which are not corresponding with the manual. Standard volume level is way too high (distortion), but no option too decrease the volume level. Hope that the new openzwave version is coming to Domoticz.

Hi Bart,

I can certainly tell you more where you can find the files needed (feel free to pm me directly), but as mentioned before:
Please read this (https://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopi ... 28&t=28969) for further information. Doorbell 6 needs open z-wave 1.6 support which is currently not available in domoticz.

it is available in beta, I'm using domoticz 4.11200 with OpenZWave 1.6-881-ga2f8a143-dirty
but I am still unable to properly control the volume or engage the alarms through browse switches, other than playing tones through BASIC SET.

Triggering switches gives following errors

Adjusting volume in OpenZWave Control panel although available in menus does nothing.

Exact same problem here.
Logfile shows “Manufacturer_specific.xml out of Date”

Solution would be appreciated.

I have send an e-mail to Aeotec, they only say that they did not test with Domoticz.

Is there anyone who has it running and can use the sounds?

I just registern for this forum just because I'd really like to get this Doorbell work!!

I just worked through the "Engineerung Specification" from Aoetec. Am I right that there are existing two different documents, where the newer one (rev 8) seems to be older... I found a rev 5 which is from the 2019-01-17 whereas the rev 8 is from the 2018-11-14?

So I figured out the volume is NOT configurable over the device config. So we really have to wait until the "volume change command class" is integraded into domoticz right?

I just managed to configure the volume and the tone witch is trigged with the button.

Its a solution past domoticz. I used the windows software "Z-Wave PC Controller 5" to send the right commands to the doorbell. I just downloaded the software and plugged my Aeotec Z-Stick in. So I could communicate with each device in my Zwave network. With the help of the Aeotec Engineering Specifications (from the 2019-01-17) it's easily possible to detect the right command (classes) to configure each tone and volume for each trigger (Button 1-3, Tamperalarm, Zwave Alarm, etc).

Well, I just forgot to make some screenshots...

Hi Hencor,

Good to read/see your persistence on this issue.
Nevertheless things should work out-of-the-box in domoticz.
I hope the open z-wave 1.6 and corresponding sound classes for the aeotec doorbell/siren 6 will work in the future.

For now the only thing I can do is sit and wait...

By the way could you post or mail me the specifications?

Hi raymond,

I just try to get all information / steps into a screenshot:
Doorbell Config Change.png
Doorbell Config Change.png (164.86 KiB) Viewed 8269 times
The send button is hidden by the Select Command window.

You can see that the SoundSwitch creates 8 different devices. Each device configure one trigger action.

The volume can be changed from 0 to 100 dec and the sound from 0 to 30 dec.
