unknown location on FGMS001-ZW5

Post by Gravityz »

i think this message is logged every time the PIR sensor detects a movement.

i was wondering, is there a way to modify this UNKNOWN location so it reflects either a location or a name of the sensor.

Code: Select all

2019-06-09 10:51:50.880 Status: OpenZWave: Alarm received (Home Security: Motion Detected at Unknown Location)

Only if the device supports sending location data. Most don’t.

I ain't a software wizz, but my simple mind's firt response was: "WHYYY>>???"
Since one can specify the location in te OZW controlpanel?
So it should be just a matter of adding the specified location to the alarm when received by the controller.

Probably it's just to simple in my mind and much more complicated in reality

The device can. Send two types of alerts - a alert with “no location specified” or a alert with the location as a parameter. In this case the device is sending the first type of alert.

As to why, you have to ask the device vendor. OZW just reports what it receives.
