Devices disappearing from dashboard and other tabs
HI there,
Running beta, 4.10364 with aeotec z-stick and RfxCom.
I ran Domoticz for quite a long time without any issues until my Razberry hat gave up. I then decided to run with the Z-stick-5 from Aeotec on a new 4.9700 Stable install. Reinstalled all RfxCom and Z-wave devices. When installing all devices show up on the switches tab, including the Aeotec dimmers. The RfxCom thermometer was in the temperature tab as it should be.
Yet at the next login they are all gone.
Edit: Just switching from tab already makes them disappear.
The only items remaining are the dummy switches and the sub devices of the Aeotec Multisensor 6; UV, Lux, TempHum, etc.
Hoping it would only be in the stable version I moved to the beta’s. The same thing keeps on happening.
When I remove the thermometer from the devices tab and then reinstall it helps shortly, it shows up at the temperature tab again, but only till the next connection. After that, it’s gone again. The same happens with the Kaku switchs and the other Z-wave devices. Present till the next connection and then gone.
Miscellaneous new installs with Raspberry Jessie (Novemer, 2018 version) won’t solve the issue.
I’ve checked and tried many possible Solutions from the forum: clearing Chrome cache, checking for domoticz.js.gz (not present) and am now without further clues.
Can anyone please shed some light on this mysterious issue please.
Should I’ve failed to provide sufficient info, please ask and I’ll add it.

Re: Devices disappearing from dashboard and other tabs
Can you show a screen shot from the hardware and from the devices tab ? That might help to identify the issue.newby2017 wrote: ↑Sunday 27 January 2019 19:04 I ran Domoticz for quite a long time without any issues until my Razberry hat gave up. Re: Devices disappearing from dashboard and other tabs
As requested some screen shots. I've not bothered to add more devices as they will keep disappearing. So I figured better to wait till the issue is solved.
I guess with the proposed thread you want me to check the dbase? I don't mind, but I've reinstalled Domoticz from scratch including the raspberry Jessie image multiple times even on different SD cards without success.
I'll add the dashboard tab in a new reply, 3 files seems to be the max at the forum.

Re: Devices disappearing from dashboard and other tabs
As you can see, only my dummy switches are visible in the switches tab. The rest all gone each and every time.
Also the status ON/OFF is not refreshed on the floorplan when manual activating a device NOR when activated from the floorplan itself. I've tried iE, Edge, Chrome and Safari on an iOS device.
Desperate for help....

Re: Devices disappearing from dashboard and other tabs
Did another fresh install and (think) I noticed the switches etc. are disappearing after changing settings. Is there any setting that could cause this behaviour?

Done all, yet no resolution. Checked Dbase with SQLite Expert on a Windows m/c. Nothing reported, Saved it and copied it back to the Raspberery. Still the same results.
Checked the DBase for favourite and found the following. Does this mean they should appear on the dashboard etc?
Really this is a very weird issue.
BTW The dashboard is still completely empty and "Lampen Aan/Uit" was already gone from the Switches tab before checking the DB.

Re: Devices disappearing from dashboard and other tabs
Solved!
My bad.
I had it setup the same as on my previous installation and that functionality is now different.
What I had before is that I moved all my devices to $hidden devices, the standard roomplan. With my new setup I did the same and that now causes the devices to actually become hidden. Whilst under the older setup they were still visible everywhere.
So the update to a fresh install with old habits was not successful.

Re: Devices disappearing from dashboard and other tabs
I think you will have to do a browser cache refresh see the wiki. https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Browser_Cache
Domoticz running on Udoo X86 (on Ubuntu)
Devices/plugins: ZigbeeforDomoticz (with Xiaomi, Ikea, Tuya devices), Nefit Easy, Midea Airco, Omnik Solar, Goodwe Solar

Re: Devices disappearing from dashboard and other tabs
My first thought as well... but no... this is from incognito mode.
What I did was:
1. Updated to latest Beta.
2. Nothing worked. Found out that Ubuntu 18 wasnt supported anymore
3. Upgraded to ubuntu 20.4
4. Devices gone in favourites and switches. ??
Any ideas?

Re: Devices disappearing from dashboard and other tabs
What I did wrong is that I placed my devices under plans in the '$Hidden Devices'. In an older version they were still visible. But now with the newer version they actually are not visible anymore. Hope this is it, as that is a simple fix.
Mind you it's not a bug

Re: Devices disappearing from dashboard and other tabs
Do you see them in menu Setup- Devices?
And they are activated (blue arrow instead of green arrow)?

Re: Devices disappearing from dashboard and other tabs
The only reason I can think of is the browser and app cache that has issues.
So emptying that (and/or open the browser in private mode) should solve this.
You did not place your devices once in the $Hidden Devices room like @newby2017? See menu Setup - More options - Plans - Room Plans

Re: Devices disappearing from dashboard and other tabs
You can always reinstall the latest stable version?
Re: Devices disappearing from dashboard and other tabs
This is so weird... My app still works... but the frontend is screwed up... everything says cache but even on a clean computer it does not show any favourites or switches.
Downloaded the latest version, compiled it and imported my database. Same result...
ANd no hidden devices

Re: Devices disappearing from dashboard and other tabs
The same issue appeared after latest update. I emptied the browser cache and the problem was gone.
