EspEasy Wemos Mini and push button notification

Post by ensingg »

Hi,

Sorry, I am a newbie. Tried reading many wikis but still too much information.

I like to have a push button connected to my ESP8266 and when I press it, I like to get a notification from Domoticz.
I configured ESPEasy with a device. But don't know what to do in Domoticz.

Please be patient and help me ;-)

Best regards,
Gert

Shorthand writing, but this in summary gives the idea [the ESPEasy Wiki describes in more detail]:
1. Go to Domoticz, Setup, Hardware
2. Create Dummy with Switch => will create Switch Device
3. Go to Domoticz, Setup, Devices
4. Under Hardware look for Dummies
5. Take note of the IDX for the Switch you created under 2.
6. Use that IDX in ESPEasy, Devices to identify your switch
7. Then in Domoticz use the information in your application
Set1 = RPI-Zero+RFXCom433+S0PCM+Shield for BMP180/DS18B20/RS485+DDS238-1ZNs
Set2 = RPI-3A++RFLinkGTW+ESP8266s+PWS_WS7000
Common = KAKUs+3*PVLogger+PWS_TFA_Nexus
plus series of 'satellites' for dedicated interfacing, monitoring & control.

I also have this problem with a sonoff with easyesp it just won't work with idx not sure what I'm doing wrong it works great using http link.
And it works fine with http but if I use idx I can use the push button and see the relay changes off/on
Do I need to have a mtqq client to get idx working?

Hi Eawo,
Can you post screenshots of your ESPeasy and Domoticz device pages, please?
And no, you don't need MQTT.
Zwave - Sigma Z+ stick, Fibaro, Horstmann, Neo Coolcam, EUROtronic
RFlink - IR detectors and temperatures
Wifi - YeeLights, ESP32s, Anoop sockets
Zigbee - lots with zigbee2mqtt and ZbBridge

Hi,

Did you also read the help page for Domoticz MQTT? It also says:
MQTT Client Gateway with LAN interface"

https://www.letscontrolit.com/wiki/inde ... oticz_MQTT

Perhaps you missed that?

Is there a reason you want MQTT? I use Domoticz HTTP and this works fine.

Also you might consider installing a more recent version of esp easy? I use the mega branch which works quite good.

Regards,
Marco
