Python plugin : no device added

Post by julien92 »

Hi,

This is my very first post here :)

I would like to manage my Denon CEOL N9 through Domoticz (installed on a Rpi).
For this, I followed this tutorial :
https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Python_Plugin_Manager

I've then clicked on Setup > Hardware > I entered a name > in type, I selected "Denon/Marrantz"
Then cliked "Add" and "Update"

I then stopped / started the Domoticz service.

But the issue I encounter is that when I check into Setup > Devices, there is no new device added... :?

I've tried with any other plugin, which each time leads to the same result : nothing in the "Devices" menu.

I should have made something wrong but cannot figure out what...

Could you please help me to solve this issue?

Thanks a lot in advance! :)

Have you ticked 'Accept new devices Allow for 5 minutes' in Setup > Settings?

The "Accept new Hardware Devices" was already active.

I've just tried this :
- click on "Alllow for 5 mintutes"
- reproduce the new hardware creation through the Python Plugin Manager

But same result :(

@julien92,

Can you turn debugging on for the plugin (should be a drop down for it on the Hardware page) and post the resulting log entries?

The Denon plugin supports controlling amplifiers via a telnet API. In recent years Denon have moved away from it so you amp may not be supported, the debug log may show that

@Dnpwwo,

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.

I think the issue is rather related to the Python plugin, as I get the exact same issue with any other plugin I try to add.
Neverthless, I've managed to add the Denon/Marrantz plugin easily by following this :
https://github.com/dnpwwo/Domoticz-Denon-Plugin

(thanks a lot for all your work! :)

Once the plugin installed and Domoticz restarted, the new hardware is present into the available hardwares.
I then fill in the IP address of my amp, set the debug logs and click Add.

This created 3 switches.
Nevertheless, it seems the connection is lost for each of them.

I've added the DEBUG logs attached.
Do you have any idea what could be the problem?
I don't think this is related to my amp, as I've managed to add it flawlessly within Opehab2 (which I don't like very much, appart from that).

Thank you very much in advance! :)
