Adding BOFU EY25 blinds - newbie question

Post by JonathanLondon »

Hi

I am trying to add some BOFU EY25 roller blinds to Domoticz using the RFXcom RFXtrx433E. I have loaded the Type2 firmware, and captured the button presses:

Code: Select all

26/08/2018 01:06:57:860
Packettype    = BLINDS1
subtype = Safy / RollerTrol / Hasta new
Sequence nbr  = 0
id2-3         = xxxx decimal:ddddd
Unit          = 1
Command       = Open
Signal level  = 7  -64dBm
------------------------------------------------
26/08/2018 01:06:59:609
Packettype    = BLINDS1
subtype = Safy / RollerTrol / Hasta new
Sequence nbr  = 1
id2-3         = xxxx decimal:ddddd
Unit          = 1
Command       = Stop
Signal level  = 7  -64dBm
------------------------------------------------
26/08/2018 01:07:02:577
Packettype    = BLINDS1
subtype = Safy / RollerTrol / Hasta new
Sequence nbr  = 2
id2-3         = xxxx decimal:ddddd
Unit          = 1
Command       = Close
Signal level  = 7  -64dBm
------------------------------------------------
26/08/2018 01:07:04:230
Packettype    = BLINDS1
subtype = Safy / RollerTrol / Hasta new
Sequence nbr  = 3
id2-3         = xxxx decimal:ddddd
Unit          = 1
Command       = Stop
Signal level  = 7  -64dBm
My problem is knowing how to add them to Domoticz. I have tried with both Type2 firmware and with Ext2 firmware. I have ticked the box for "Blind T0" on the Domoticz RFXcom set up page.

I presume I should go to Switches->Manual Light/Switch and in the pop-up, select

Hardware: RFXtrx433
Switch type: Blinds

but in the Type: drop down, I see Blinds T5 Media Mount ... Blinds T13 Screenline, but not anything I recognize for my Bofu (Safy/RollerTrol/Hasta).

I expect this is a newbie mistake. What am I missing??

Thanks,
Jonathan.

Hi Jonathan,

I have the exact same issue. After thinking assuming my Verosol blinds had Somfy motors and not succeeding in connecting them to the RFXCom I took out one motor just today and found out they were BOFU's. I flashed the type2 firmware, caught the remote signals and wrote down the hexadecimal codes of the remotes and units.

Than I flashed the Ext2 firmware back and wanted to add the T0 blinds, but nothing. It starts from T5 till T13. I'm running beta (v4.9948) and assuming this has to do with that. I don't have the stable version running, so can't quickly verify if that has the T0 option. What version of Domoticz are you running?

Cheers,

Melgi

After looking through the source code, the list of blinds starting at T5 is hard-coded. So I tried something different!

In the Switches screen, and with type2 firmware loaded, click on "Learn Light/Switch", and press the blind remote control. Domoticz picks up the blind immediately and it shows as RollerTrol/Hasta blind and works perfectly.

Then revert the firmware to Ext2, and it carries on working.

Awesome Jonathan! Will try this solution this weekend. If it works with me I'll update my post as well and hopefully can help others with this as well.

Btw you're no newbie mate when solving this! I say you're a pro
