Hi everyone,
For my new home I am looking for motion detection
to work with domoticz. I already have one (for testing) 433mhz Kerui device but internet learns me that those
batteries don't last very long. In my present home there is a security system installed that somehow uses the 433mhz frequency but is invisible in domoticz (RFXcomm). This system uses AA batteries that last more than a year. The Kerui devices last for a few months.
So my question is: what kind of motion detectors do you use? I am starting from scratch so every option is open.
Kind regards!
What PIR to buy?

I use Fibaro motion sensors (zwave). Not cheap, but the come with a nice load of configurable options.
Battery life is depending on configuration of reports (temp/ lumen) but can be easily over a year

Synology NAS, slave PI3, ZWave (Fibaro), Xiaomi zigbee devices, BTLE plant sensor, DzVents, Dashticz on tablet, Logitech Media Server

I use the Fibaro Eye and the Xiaomi Zigbee ones.
Both work well, but in my case the Xiaomi gateway you need as well sometimes loses connection with Domoticz and it sends ALL of the movements and actions to Chinese servers as well.
The Fibaro Eye has a extreme battery lifetime if you only enable the movement detection.

Re: What PIR to buy?
Thank you all for your replies! I really like the Xiaomi system because of the looks. The thing I dislike is the fact that all information travels to China for I don't know what reason.
I already have the Aeotec Z-wave USB and by that the Fibaro Eye must be perfect for me.
Luckily for me I don't have to make a decision yet... there is some more studying for me to do.
