IFTTT spams my Domoticz

Post by drwurn »

I've setup a simple ifttt. When connected to a certain wifi network, a http is send with webhooks.
The code that I use is:

Code: Select all

http://<LOGIN>:<PW>@<IP>:8080/json.htm?type=command&param=switchlight&idx=25&switchcmd=Toggle
The result is that my Domoticz is getting spammed with requests.
The log from my virtual switch is:
2018-06-11 11:56:00 Off
2018-06-11 11:56:00 On

When I replace Toggle with On/Off the log result is multiple on/off in a row.

And when I look in the IFTTT app, it ran like 10 times or so, but it sends multiple requests every second.

How to fix this?

You're probably not connected all the time.. when walking around you're connection may drop for a second which results in a trigger 'toggle'.. and then connect again which also results in a toggle...

.how does your ifttt 'this' look?...

Hope this helps

When I look in my IFTTT it says it ran the script like 10 times.
My log is about 1500 pages in less then an hour.

The this is "android device" and then "connects to a specific wifi network"

Fixed by leaving the fields "on action/off action"

So far this presence method works good with no false switches.
Need more testing and also going to test on Iphone.
