Hi - if you've got a git a/c can you add to that issue with the data they're asking for? Or post it here, and i'll update? thanksFred78 wrote: ↑Tuesday 23 January 2018 11:13Great! Thanks!Madgeni wrote: ↑Tuesday 23 January 2018 9:53

Thanks,Madgeni wrote: ↑Monday 22 January 2018 23:29Hi -peteralm wrote: ↑Monday 22 January 2018 22:17 So, I have just taken the plunge to properly understand this and get it working and unlinked the LightwaveRF app from Google Assistant...
I am trying to understand;
Lights with dimmers = Lightbulb
Lights without dimmers = Generic
Other devices (like a TV connected to a plugin socket switch) = TV or other image
So, when I say "Brighten the lights" the dimmers will increase but the lights plugged into plugin socket switch will not
When I say "Switch of all the lights" the dimmers and the generic plugin sockets will switch off but NOT the TV plugin socket
When I say "switch off everything" everything gets switched off...
Is there no chance that you could read the switch type field in domoticz rather that reply upon the image - I have the floor plan and would rather all the lights were lights and not switches (which I suppose they actually are).
Am I on the right tracks?
Also - whilst I am thinking about things - now that GH recognises different voices, the ability to link more than 1 google account to the same settings would be great. This way I dont have to go through the same set-up with the wife!
What i've tried to do, is to take the very disparate set of hardware challenges that Domoticz handles, and filter that down to basically the two options Google (or Alexa) give me - Lights, or switches. Lots of switches, and hardware types use the device.type = 'light'.
Now, a wall socket, is a switch, not a light - it may drive a light, it may drive a TV etc etc. So if you want it to be treated as a light, change the image to a bulb, if you want it to be a switch, then the 'generic' image is the right choice.
Google adds some natural language processing, so if it recognises something as a light, and you put a bunch of them in a room, with some switches, you can say "turn off the lights in the room" and it will turn off lights, but not switches.
At the moment if I say dim the lights in the living room I get both the ok message and also following that an error message. Is that because it has tried to dim the sockets driving lights?
Does Google understand the difference between dimmable and non dimmable?
I have to say that I am finding it more reliable than the lightwaverf official integration!
Thanka

it is likely - sounds like poor error handling by the developer..!
Glad it's working for you

Hi Madgeni,
I've tried to signup using the form on your website. However, when I press submit, my input fields disappear and no feedback is given. Afterwards I'm trying to login, hoping that my signup was successful, but I'm unable to login.
Am I doing something incorrect or is the signup process broken?
I used Google Chrome and Internet Explorer, both giving the same results.
Hopefully you can take a look at it,
Thanks,
Jordy

Hi -
i've just created a test user, and it seems ok? You're now the second person to experience some issue with the site, so will look at it

Re: Controlicz - Domoticz to Google Home/Assistant integration
I've now been able to create a user. Things I did differently:
Used a different password (for my email/user pair), before it was equal to the domoticz_user password.
Instead of using a DNS-name as host, used an IP address
I've now applied for Google Home Hopefully I'll be accepted soon.
Thanks again,
Jordy

Re: Controlicz - Domoticz to Google Home/Assistant integration
Hello guys. Could somebody provide a full guide how to setup Google Home and Controlicz? Because it is very hard to collect information from 42 pages of this forum branch. I guess it would be great to have some page with instructions for new users. Madgeni what do you think about it?
I've visited www.controlicz.com but there are no instructions and some info about setup it.

Hi
there is https://www.controlicz.com/faq - which concerns Domoticz setup, and the email you received on joining the Beta tells you how to enable Google Home.

Thanks - DNS is fine - will look at the password thing, but that shouldn't be an issue, they are separate entities, handled differently. I'll test thoughJordy wrote: ↑Thursday 25 January 2018 13:23I've now been able to create a user. Things I did differently:

Re: Controlicz - Domoticz to Google Home/Assistant integration
That documentation so poor to set up Contorlicz all correctly.Madgeni wrote: ↑Thursday 25 January 2018 13:40 Hi
there is https://www.controlicz.com/faq - which concerns Domoticz setup, and the email you received on joining the Beta tells you how to enable Google Home.
As an example, when I try to connect Controlicz with my Google Home app I see the message "Google is requesting full access to your account" but I don't understand why it is not Google-like standard window of authorization? It looks like phishing
And email... I don't understand what to do because in the links I see how to setup Google Actions... I should say "Hey Google, say to [bot name]" but in the real life I shouldn't say it, just "Hey Google, turn on the light". It confuses me...
All of these things confuse many users which want to setup it but don't understand how.

Ok, i'm close to ignoring this, because tone.
In order:
I can't pretend to be Google, so it isn't google branded. I could probably make it pretty, but I have a job which pays actual money.
Honestly, i've got 260 users of the Google Home beta now, and with the odd exception, no one has come on here telling me the documentation is poor.
Follow the link, enable the simulation, enable the app in your Google Home, or Google Assistant, then "turn on lights", "turn off lights"
jesus wept, seriously don't use it. It doesn't pay my bills, provide food or pay my mortgage, so my care level is 0.

Sorry Madgeni, I didn't want to argue with somebody. I'm not a native speaker and sometimes might seem I speak a little "impertinently". Sorry about that. I wanted just to create one place with meaningful documentation about the setup of Controlicz.Madgeni wrote: ↑Thursday 25 January 2018 13:55 Ok, i'm close to ignoring this, because tone.

Re: Controlicz - Domoticz to Google Home/Assistant integration
There is, the faq. I refuse to document the google home setup, as it's an interim solution until i get Google to approve the app, which takes a lot more time and effort than i think gets credit.
And when Google publish a list of standard invocations, i'll link to it.

So, in your plans to approve Controlicz as one of the official Google Assistant vendor services?
