no ID, no TYPE for ZWave devices (ID = 0x0000, TYPE = 0x0000)

Post by altarus1 »

Hello,

I've used domoticz since one year on raspberry but I would migrate this on linux.

I've installed domoticz on fresh linux following wiki page for linux install (http://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Linux)

Please note that OS is a virtual machine, but USB device (RFXtrx433 and ZWave dongle are mounted and seen by system).
After install, I've restored domoticz db to new system saved from the raspberry

The install seems to be fine, Domoticz runs normally and there is no pb with RFXcom, script... . But, except zwave controller (Aetoec Z-Stick Gen5), all devices haven't IDs, nor TYPEs. And so, none values are recorded (devices seems to be unseen)

try searching solution in this forum, found some topics wich describe sames issues with recent release of Domoticz, then I have done new compil from last stable release (v3.8153) which is the same release of my Domoticz install on Raspberry.
I also try "Refresh Node Info" from OZW control panel but didn't resolve issue (give ERROR: Dropping command, expected response not received...)

Nodes topology seem to be ok

Someone could help me ?

I had it in the past and it magically stopped happening a while back. The temporary fix at the time was to delete the ozwcpxxx xml file in your /Config directory and reboot.

Thank you philchillbill for your answer.

I try it by renaming zwcfg_XXX.xml file (in Config dir), then reboot. After reboot, device aren't still not identified. A new xml config file is created, I open it, ID and TYPE are set to 0

Your device_manufacturer.xml is not up to date i think

I didn't find any device_manufacturer.xml file, did you mean manufacturer_specific.xml in Config dir ? I open it, and it seem to include my devices (note that I didn't have exotic devices, only Aeotec multisensor and fibaro plugs)

If not, where can I find this file, and how can I update it ?

hello
I've the same issue when including new z-wave hardware, no device are visible.
I had a beta version about 1 month old, as it didn't work, I've upgraded today with Version: 3.8796. And it's the same :-(
Any other ideas? Isn't it a bug of this beta?

Hi
some news:
the case that doesn't work is when I try to include a device with the Z-wave stick( Aeotec ZW090 Z-Stick Gen5 EU) unplugged from the domoticz server (PI)
When I include it near the PI and with the Z-wave stick plugged it works fine!

That just solved it for me too, with z-stick and aeotec multi sensor. Apparently the 'get device info' receipt/response was harder to achieve than the normal data transfer ( you can see ozw try, and fail, at 20m range).
