i did add 2 new switches for the Christmas tree and i did change the icon in domoticz to the Christmas tree.
If you change the icon it shows it like this in home
Image

You can ask google to turn them on individual and that works but if you put them in a room in home they will not work

If you change the icon back the normal light bulb in domoticz they show up like this
Image

Then you can put them in a room and they will work as a group
So i made a room called Christmas and that works.

Maybe have a look at this issue

I got it working now, thanks! But also have a problem with some thermostats in a particular room. I can get the status and temperature from other devices, but for these it wil say "Unable to reach TV room stat". How can I debug this message?

Also a strange thing is if you ask for the outside temperature it will tell you it is 6.6°C and the garden is off
How can it be off??

i noticed this too..it always tells me that the temp sensor is off...i figured it was just reporting on the state as known by domoticz.....

+1 for an awesome product....absolutely love whats been done and cant believe how well it intergrates so easily...ill definatly be giving tangible support for this product

*sigh* it isn't. Honestly i've no idea how it's getting that state - i pass back 'on', but it has decided that it's 'off'. I'll add it to my list to look at.

Yeah a common theme is that Domoticz allows for a large amount of customisation, but Alexa and Google don't, so I have to find ways of deciding what's a light, what's a switch, when they both have Type of Light and Subtype of light. I decided on the image - if it's a bulb, it's a light. if it isn't a bulb, well..you can work that out :) I did put something in the FAQ

Thanks for me setting up. I registered my google email on controlicz, setup port forwarding etc, have a new user, and have run through the google beta test setup.

When I go into add devices, I see [test] Home Controlicz. If I click I get prompted for user/pass , to accept, then user/pass. After doing this I just get 'something went wrong' . How do I debug?

can you double check your domoticz username/password?
weirdly, i can see controlicz is getting a http 503 error, which usually means the Domoticz service is not available - have you done any whitelisting/blacklisting on a firewall?

I can do 'telnet A.B.C 10443' and connect
I can browse to https://A.B.C.D:10443 and get into domoticz - though without userid/password... looking at that now....

(I'm using a non-standard port to not clash with other https stuff I may expose)

Hi Madgeni
If I query my lounge temperature it returns a different number to that shown in Domoticz. It seems no matter what the temperature is in Domoticz, Google home returns 17.5. Any idea what's happening?

ok, that's weird!
if you use this - https://yourhost:port/json.htm?type=devices&rid=IDXOFLOUNGETEMPERATURE - what does 'temp' say?
