Hi all,
I recently started collecting smart plug from neo Cool cam (AliExpress). These are really easy for use with a Aeotec Stick.
But these plugs have a max of 2600W.. As I want to monitor my microwave I need a different one.. Microwave = 3400W
Who can advise me in which z-wave plug to buy??.. (price does matter)
Kind regards

Re: Looking for z-wave (plus) smart plug 16A
Its quite hard to find something in this Watt area.
The only one i've found was this one:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/EVERSPRING-Z-W ... 2348309994
There is a test in German here: http://www.zwave-review.com/tests/Everspring_AN1527.php
It seems to be quite reliable, but there are not many shops selling it.
And this one from Aeon: https://en.robbshop.nl/aeon-labs-inline ... -switch-v3
Its sould out on the linked shop, but i think you could find it somewhere else (AEO_SES3_EU)

Buy a powerstrip/"short extension" with desired amp rating. These are everyday items.
Split the cable between the plug and the strip and fit a household electricity monitor clamp to the live wire.
Now you can monitor to your heart`s delight.
I use a OWL Micro+ CM 180 as the electricity monitor.
As an example, the CM 180 Specification indicate will measure up to 71A {+-16000 watt}.

I like your idea, but how is this communicating with domoticz?greenisnews wrote: ↑Tuesday 07 November 2017 3:21 Buy a powerstrip/"short extension" with desired amp rating. These are everyday items.

For what I can read I need a RFXCom (which I don't have at the moment) which means additional costs.

Re: Looking for z-wave (plus) smart plug 16A
Buy any domestic "Electricity Monitor" compatible with whatever controller you already have. This free you from the hard task to find a single power plug that will read and record high loads +- 10A, > 2000 watts.
Say you want a z-wave speaking "Electricity Monitor" , perhaps this will work.
In my case I had two existing controllers.
ZStick-Gen5_ZW090-C and RFXtrx433E.
I bought the "Owl micro+ CM180" as it would work using LigtwaveRF on 433Mhz with my existing RFXtrx433E. {I had to check and ensure these are compatible beforehand}
The CM180 speaking LigtwaveRF would cost me +- £33 {you only need the sensor, this will cost even less, say +- £10} vs a a z-wave speaking Electricity sensor" for +- £70.
The pain, we need to ensure that any sensor we buy works with whatever controller we own, or, buy another controller. I see you have a "433MHz Superheterodyne 3310 RF Link". You need to check and see if it will speak to the "Owl micro+ CM180" or find an "Electricity Monitor" that does.
Perhaps this will help others.

Re: Looking for z-wave (plus) smart plug 16A
Forgive my question but why it's so important to monitor a microwave oven? It's something you use ocassionally not 0-24.Draakje wrote: ↑Monday 06 November 2017 19:51 Hi all,

So if I can do it cheaply I will. If not.. well then no monitoring

Re: Looking for z-wave (plus) smart plug 16A
Well, the cheapest one is not to monitor it, or you can monitor your household's total consuption. Then you'll see the spikes generated by microwave oven (for ex: you switch on your microwave oven at 7:00, then later check the spike generated by the owen - then you'll have an estimate of the consumption).Draakje wrote: ↑Tuesday 07 November 2017 12:57I am possessed to monitor everything..
