gate opener and status best way

Post by italoc »

which is the best way to control a gate and know the status?

i think to use fibaro roller shutter 2, but in the manual says to don't connect motor in DC, only AC motor is supported

my motor works in DC, but in the mainboard i have 24V AC contact.

any ideas?

thanks

why don't use a dry contact to apply the 2 buttons proided by the motor for open/close?
the positioning could be quite difficult, specially if you have a logic control board that should provide it somehow (and normally they don't)
I've seen around that some users define movements with ultrasonic radars and other stuff (like mysensors)

Or.. under zWave environment, aeontec provide a garagedoor controller that could be helpful

Why don't you use 2 door/window sensors and a z-wave switch.
instead of on off you could set it to open close

success

You could take the fibaro ones and "pack" the sensor part.
the magnet is outdoor resistent allready

It's just a magnet, it will work when it's wet. The sensor part however needs to be 'packed' (protected from water)
