Re: Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
Hey @Madgeni, thanks for putting this framework together! Can you clarify the permissions needed for the Domoticz account? I set up a new user account just for controlicz, and would like to give it the minimum permissions for it to work. Does it have to be an Admin, or can it be a User, or Viewer? What about the checkbox "Sharing: (enables remote sharing of of devices with this user)"?
I cant get any devices to discover either, and I too wonder as another poster had asked, does the SSL cert have to be a real third-party cert, or will it ignore a standard-issue self-signed cert?
thanks!

Re: Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
Hi there jbishop129 -
a User is sufficient - I think a viewer wouldn't have the permissions to interact with switches.
Re: SSL, i use a self-signed cert on my domoticz, so shouldn't be that. I'll take a look, see what's up

Re: Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
seems up for me? In truth - the issue with people using http does break the underlying node API (not mine!) which i've updated for additional functionality. I need to sort out the error handling there, but the Controlicz site restarts if it craps out

just a gentle reminder that you don't need to supply "https://" in your hostname, just the name

Re: Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
trying to browse to the https://www.controlicz.com site times out, from two different Internet entry points in the US. Scanning for 'available ports' with MX Toolbox shows no reply from 80 or 443: https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?ac ... n=toolpage
controlicz.com DNS resolves to 50.63.202.50 for me in the Western US. Possibly need to bounce your AWS instance?
EDIT: Disregard, browser caching issue. I'm an idiot! Extra embarrassment points, since I'm an infrastructure architect by day

Re: Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
Pwd resets for controlicz should be available by Monday, mostly done. "Get Temp" should be available over the weekend

Re: Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
I was able to detect all my Domoticz devices (associated with Rooms) now! Here's my settings, hope this helps someone else:
* Created new user in my Domoticz server: Rights = User, and all checkboxes checked below it.
* Created account at https://www.controlicz.com/
* Filled in FQDN for my Domoticz server (WITHOUT preceding https://, just the FQDN!)
* Port # my Domoticz is listening on for https
* Install Alexa skill, link to Controlicz account, then scan for new Devices. Discovered all devices that are associated with a Room.

Re: Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
It will currently bounce if there is a person who has specified a hostname which connects with http, not https. The site shouldn't be down for long, as an example, i've just checked it and it is up.
I'll fix both https validation and error handling in the node api as priority

Re: Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
great it works!!! I removed the https:// in the domain name
some ideas:
add/update domoticz.com/wiki
Maybe we can make a dedicated topic
Alexa_Name: isn't in the faq while it's a great feature, because everything in my domoticz is Dutch
my thermostat is 24.5 degrees. but alexa told me it's 400 I have metrics and celcius activated in settings.

Re: Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
Hey guys,
It's Friday evening, so got myself some coding time.
Managed to install the Alexa - Domoticz integration (https://github.com/madgeni/alexa_domo) and it's actually working pretty well!
Only weird thing I notice is that I'm missing my ZWave dimmers in the discovered devices. Still able to control them with a scene, so got myself a workaround.
Any clue if I should do something special with my ZWave dimmers to get them discovered?
Thanks,
Rick

Re: Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration
Hi Rick - the alexa-domo integration thread is here:
viewtopic.php?f=38&t=9446
I'd need some more detail on the dimmers, to tweak the discovery. In that thread can you give me detail on their Type/Subtype etc from Domoticz?
