So, actually we're back at the question why the API still isn't used?

Yup..

And Eneco Denisse sends me back to here. Or.. to Domoticz.

maybe the creator of the Toon module can fix it to work with the API.

And why it works with others... I have to ask them... Strange.

Indeed, it is very strange why it works for some and why it don't for others (like me).

The only thing that I can imagine is that the people for which it is working didn't do something with there configuration?!

When one of the major incidents with Eneco Servicecenter was happening I tried to reconfig the Toon with my Domoticz. Since then it didn't work anymore (and also I had to reinstall my Pi two months ago, so I think it would happend then).

That can be a cause.
I din't do anything with the Toon setup for more then a year now. It was running (till oktober 2016 ;) ) and I was fine.
Then after the changes of gizmocus it worked fine again and until now I didn't do any change.

It's to bad that they closed toonopafstand.nl, I used it all the time.
Unfortunately, the two words 'Toon' and 'API' do not go along very well, since they promised an open API for a long long time. Hopefully this API will result in lower update times since the currently used 5 minutes is quite long and pretty useless for reading the current energy usage.

You are now throwing 2 things together. Toon API and toonopafstand.nl...

1:

Since 14 Maart Toon API works very great. Triggi is a nice example of that. Triggi works with the Toon API, with Triggi it is possible to switch the smart plugs on time or at sunrise / sunset.

2:

That it was only 5 minutes, because Eneco Officeel did not want Domoticz to make use of the website because it caused too many inconvenience.
Eneco also blocked Domoticz user agent. Someone found out by changing the user agent.

Would be nice if we could get it working with using another user-agent.

Beta of Domoticz use already a other user-agent. ;)

Well, then that isn't the problem either :(

Just installed the latest beta (Version: 3.7450 build: 2017-05-11 18:05:12), but Toon still fails to connect:
...
2017-05-17 16:25:06.012 ToonThermostat: Worker started...
2017-05-17 16:25:27.066 Error: ToonThermostat: Error login!
...
Appearantly this other user-agent is still failing on me.

Can I volunteer to test the Toon API that's being developed?

I'm not sure if there is actually being something developed at the moment. Toon/Eneco does have a API available, but how that would work out I don't know. You need to have programming knowledge.

The user-agent thing seems to be from the past. This time, since March 15, Eneco just killed access to the data.

Maybe are here users that will play with the Toon API? Mean users that can script. ;)
Toon API can connects with the Toon Display with C# or with Java.
Maybe someone can write a script for Domoticz, that other users can add Toon to this amazing Domoticz platform?

I really would like to dive into that. But then I first need to get some basics in C# programming... o and lots of time... hope someone else will find the time.
Would be really nice if the scheduling of the heating can be synchronized as well

First things first.. Example from Toon API will be show the current temperatuur. If we get that on Domoticz, we can go on! 8-)

Reading the Terms and Conditions:
A Product Key is granted for the use of the Application by a maximum amount of 1,000 (one thousand) End Users. If this maximum amount of End Users is (nearly) reached, Parties shall discuss the possible exceedance of this amount of End Users, which exceedance may be subject to additional (financial) conditions.
7.1. Toon may charge a fee for the grant of a Product Key or the use of the Application by Toon’s Users. The fees that are charged by Toon in connection to the API Terms, as well as the way such fees are invoiced and other payment terms are explained in the pricing principles.
Pricing

The API pricing and rate limit scheme is based on the following principles:

- Any user of the API can use the API for free for the first 1000 Toon users. This will allow you to build and experiment without even having to think about API pricing. And also offering us the opportunity to get a better understanding of your product and how it uses our API.
- All users of the API are bound to a rate limit of 10 API calls per minute per Toon user (managed per minute).
- For starting and small, independent companies we intend not to charge any fees when you pass the 1000 end-users, as long as you use the API in a way that reflects regular human interaction. Continuously ‘polling’ the Toon display to check for its status or real-time power/gas consumption is not allowed, unless it is done for a short period of time during user interaction.
- For established companies and brands we would like to discuss with you how to proceed beyond 1000 end-users either before you launch or when you are approaching the 1000 users.
That might be a problem.

This is already in the toon API for a very long time in my opinion:
Toon-devices.jpg
Toon-devices.jpg (146.2 KiB) Viewed 4170 times
All these devices I see everyday in Domoticz V3.7450
As far as I know these devices and values are coming via the API since there is no longer a "toon op afstand".

Or am I wrong?
But how do I get these values then? They are real time as far as I can inspect.

I hope one of the developers can give us an update about the state this API is in.

This evening I will setup a Raspberry and see if I can get toon working on that one.
I will keep you informed
Best regards Bert

We don't really know why for some people it's still working and for others ir doesn't. It seems you are one of those people that still can connect to Toon.
I know that during the change in March, I did do some re-adjusting in Domoticz, and re-installed Toon. So it might be that that was the reason it doesn't work anymore.

This raspberry has never had contact with Toon op afstand before.
I just enabled the hardware and all the devices came up.
For me this is prove that the API is working already

The only one who can tell is I think gizmocus. Probably you have to get in contact with him via a PM
