Mi-Light / LimitlessLED / Applamp

Hello Guys,

I've bought some "Mi-Light" "receivers" and a "Wifi Box" (It says Wifibox V2 on the wifibox itself)

I've paired all the "Receivers" with the wifibox and it works smoothly with the "Mi-Light V3 App"

These are the steps that do seem to work, the problem is that it doesn't work as soon as I try to use them via domoticz.

I've added 2 times the same hardware (just with diffrent ports), set the "mode" to "RGBWW" but still it doesn't seem to work.

I've added some screenshots for more info.

Any help or advise would be appreciated.

Ok in the browser http://portnumberoftheibox:80 I can see all the settings. The port number is 8899 but I don't know why domoticz doesn't turn on/off lights. Using v4/v5 or v6 and all the combination with RGBW, RGBWW (I don't know what does it mean RGBWW), etc..

Domoticz version is 3.7206
I'm using the gu10 rgbw lights
Cache cleared.

Port is 5987, it's written several times in this thread.

I forgot to mention that I tried also with 5987. Same zero result

Bumping this thread, it doesn't seem to change anything if I change the ports....
Its still not working...

I did it selectin RGBWW. But homebridge shows me as simple dimmable white led non rgb

I did some investigation with my pi, started some netcat port scanning.

Seems like it does listen on port 5987 over here.

I've forgot to add the -u flag. Now I did and it seem to have a connection.

Try different combination between v4-5-6 and RGB/RGBW/RGBWW

Are you using the correct IP address? Is this 192.168.0.26 what you have entered on the address bar to access the bridge management UI? In case it is, then the IP address is correct, but at least for me this IP found on "other settings" tab is different than what has been given to the bridge as the real IP address ( = the one you use to access the management page, also seen on the "system" tab). And I can see this IP is what you have entered to Domoticz.

As you can see, domoticz finds the bridge, it can send commandos but I don't have any visual confirmation from my lights.
Can the problem be that my wifibox uses diffrent "commandos" then the V6/V1?!

Ok, seems it is correct then. Did you change the "server address" (IP) under "other settings" to have it same as also the real IP of the bridge? Not sure if this could have something to do with the issues. Using iBox 2 (a variant of the V6 bridge without the built-in light) is not a problem, I have two of those myself and both working just fine.

Can you specify (once more perhaps) the type of bulbs you have (when were they bought)? Have you tested also with RGBW mode and not just RGBWW?

Ok, I asked this because changing it is not needed. It can be the default and everything works so therefore I was wondering if the fact that you changed it could be the source of your issues. Not perhaps likely, but something that is different from my setup. I have there actually the "TCP-Server" option where "Server Address" field is grayed out (I assume this is the default option as I cannot remember touching it). I have set a fixed IP on the "STA Setting" tab. Here's my "Other Setting":

The real IP I have setup on STA Setting tab (the one I use in Domoticz, with port 5987) is 192.168.11.23.

If they are newly bought, then they should work with both modes. Mode is selected in the app by selecting the remote type and if you use the first remote in the list (with saturation and color temperature control) then your receivers are linked to RGBWW. If you changed the remote to the one that has just brightness and color wheel, then they are linked to RGBW. You can try these out, but just in case, I'd probably first change the bridge settings to default (maybe reset the whole bridge and not change anything else than fixed IP on "STA Setting" if you want to) and see if it has any effect...

It's just me or the light are warm? In kelvin section of the app I move the selector but nothing change in temperature white.

I did a factory reset of the wifibox.
Only changed the "STA setting" and "Work mode".
I still see that domoticz makes connection to the bridge via the logs, but I still don't have visual confirmation. (even though with diffrent combinations of RGBW/W.

I'll do some more testing later on the day. I'll keep you guys posted.

I did a factory reset of the wifibox.

Cannot remember any more what the default "work mode" is. But unless it is changed automatically when connecting to local network via the app for the first time, I don't think I've touched that either. The mode is "STA mode" in my bridge.

Default "work mode" is set to "AP", changed it to: "STA" this option allows the wifibox to connect to our network. I did it with the app the first time, now I've did it myself by surfing to the "designated ip"(10.10.100.254).

Changed the settings myself, it works again with the app (while being connected to my network) and the remote. Cleared the cache of my google chrome and it still doesn't seem to work.

Which Netcat command can I use to manually put them on via putty? (I haven't found them or looked over it for the V6) I'll try that next and let you guys know if it works.

I guess the best source for api stuff is still http://www.limitlessled.com/dev/ where you'll find all sorts of sample codes.

I have a couple of hours "free" at work so I started on this again....

So...

I installed the MiLight3 rep from LumKitty on my Raspberry.
I've configured everything in the milightbox.py and after some testing, .... It still doesn't seem to work. (I can see the commands as debug, but I don't see my lights visually turning on...?)

Now, I've downloaded the DEV tool from LimitlessLED and its still NOT working...

Hmm, as all of the mentioned approaches (Domoticz, 3rd party scripts) work fine with my iBox1, iBox2 and v5 bridge (yes, I have all of them ) only thing I can think of anymore is that there is either something broken with your iBox (still allowing it to work via phone app though) or there is something blocking communication from the hardware (RPi?) where you've installed Domoticz and the scripts towards the iBox. Although, if the Domoticz log shows the hardware as connected and the scripts output something meaningful when debug is on, then I'd say the communication towards the iBox as such is working. What kind of commands did you try with the scripts?

Could you perhaps add a picture of all your Milight hardware (bridge, bulbs) to be sure we're on the same page there?
