ETH8020 how to add?

Post by heistje »

Hi,

I'm trying to add the "ETH8020 Relay board with LAN interface" in to Domoticz but without succes...
I'm running Domoticz on Ubuntu server 16.04 (Qnap virtual machine) and that works great.
pinging to the ETH8020 in Ubuntu gives answers, so it's reachable.
With the "ETH8020 Test Application" (webbased) I can toggle all relays without any problem.

But after adding the "ETH8020 Relay board with LAN interface" in Domoticz the only responses I get from the ETH8020 are :
--> "ETH8020: Started"
and
--> "Error: ETH8020 hardware (7) thread seems to have ended unexpectedly"
--> "Error: ETH8020: error connecting to: 192.168.0.200

:(

I tried everything I could imagine (other IP-adres, other passwords, no password, other port, ...) and ran out of options...

could use a bit of help: what I am doing wrong?

Thx!

Hello heistje,

Where you able to add the eth8020? I'm also looking into this unit, haven't bought it yet though.

Sorry for my late response, I didn't see it sooner

Yes, I've got it working but on an other way that I expected... (not by adding the ETH8020 since I didn't found that to work...)

I'm using the ETH 8020 to open/close the roller shutters (every output is attached to a RF-transmitter which sends a signal to a group of shutters)
I created some virtual switches in Domoticz
virtswitchshutter.JPG
virtswitchshutter.JPG (16.9 KiB) Viewed 2410 times
and in the ON-action and OFF-action I'm working with a JSON URL.

eg:
credentials.JPG
credentials.JPG (31.07 KiB) Viewed 2410 times
http://username:password@ipETH8020/io.cgi?DOA14=15
where username and password are the credentials for your ETH8020 (defined in the config page of the ETH8020)
and where DOA14=15 generates an puls of 1,5sec on the 14th output from the ETH8020

you can find more about JSON URL's here: https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Domoticz_API/JSON_URL%27s
you can find more about specific instructions for the ETH8020 in the manual

BTW This does the trick for me but I think there has to be an easier way (adding in hardware...?) but I didn't found it yet.
I also don't know yet how to 'screen' the Inputs... so I don't use them... too bad...

grtz!

Hi heistje, i am juergen from germany.Under Domoticz Hardware, you must change the port to 80 in the Field.
By my older Domoticz Version 2.2x i must downgrade the FW of ETH8020 to V6 , now I have V7 and Domoticz 3.7 last stable, and I see you have V8.
Change the Port only in Domoticz. I had the theme Problem. Sorry for my bad english

Thank you very much, it is great, impossible to think that : change the port into 80 only in Domoticz .... :o

Hello, I bought a dS3484 board and want to set it up to create a wired alarm system. My current wired Bosch alarm is old and I want to integrate my existing PIRs in Domotics and Dashticz. I found the ETH8020 hardware device, when selecting it I see the error "Error: ETH8020: Error connecting to: http://192.168.0.**". I tried a lot of settings in the setup of the board, no success. It works with the android telephone app and I see it in the internet browser. I am not a genius with programming, but I know how to edit web pages and have good knowledge about electronics.
Anyone out there whom can help me me? I am Dutch, so if it helps PM me in Dutch. I will keep everybody informed about my journey with this project. Promissed!
