ZigBee USB dongle recommendations for a computer as DIY Home Automation Gateway?

I was wondering if anyone have any tips for inexpensive ZigBee USB dongles that supports all ZigBee protocols and profile specifications?

Specifically I would like one that supports ZigBee Home Automation, ZigBee Light Link, ZigBee Smart Energy, as well as ZigBee PRO.


I run Domoticz on an x86/x86-PC mini-PC so I need a ZigBee USB dongle (and not a Raspberry Pi or Arduino shield adapter).

I'm on a low-end budget and wish to start with the new inexpensive Ikea Tradfri ("Trådfri") series of smart lights and a few Xiaomi smart home sensors.

It would be really nice if it would work with Domoticz out-of-the-box & supported most common ZigBee profiles specification if not all.

ZigBee based sensors are getting more and more popular worldwide as ZigBee sensors tend to be way cheaper than Z-Wave.

I am even having a hard time telling if these even supports all ZigBee profile specifications or not?

Anyway, I would prefer one with replacable RP-SMA antenna, but need to support all specifications.

Dresden Electronics says that their open source gateway software "deCONZ" support to use the ConBee USB dongle to control ZLL lights from Osram, Philips, and Dresden Elektronik FLS ballasts.

I have this exact question myself. Did you try one of these usb dongles? Can you share your experience?

Just get a RaspBEE premium GPIO Device, let's try it first, then let's try to make it works with Domoticz (or not...will see)

Thanks for the tip - looks promising.

Maybe someone can answer my question if it is also possible to use an "Amazon Echo Plus" with its integrated ZigBee-Smart Home-Hub?
Will this network (initiated by the Echo Plus) be "visible" for Domoticz so that one could control the devices in the network? Or is there any additional hardware needed?
