Simple turn on between time range

Post by jrich523 »

Hey Guys,
I am trying to do this with blocky but i suppose lui is fine too.

I just want to turn a light on between 4:30 and 9:30pm, so i created a simple IF block and did the time range and inside the Do i just turned the light on.
This sort of works because it will turn the light on, but after it passes 9:30 it never actually shuts off. Is there some simple way to handle this or do i need to do an On event at 4:30 and then a seperate off event at 9:30?

Thanks, just want to make sure im doing this the best way.
thanks

Why use Blocky or lua-script for switching a lamp based on time?
Simpler method: go to Switches, for the subject Switch select 'Timers', and set the time for ON and the time for OFF.
With 'Timers' for each time you can also set a random variation around this time, and you can also make choices for weekdays, for weekends and for selected days.
Set1 = RPI-Zero+RFXCom433+S0PCM+Shield for BMP180/DS18B20/RS485+DDS238-1ZNs
Set2 = RPI-3A++RFLinkGTW+ESP8266s+PWS_WS7000
Common = KAKUs+3*PVLogger+PWS_TFA_Nexus
plus series of 'satellites' for dedicated interfacing, monitoring & control.

For alignment with the nominal times for sun's light you may include sunrise or sunset in Timer-setting.
