Add the MCZ pellet stove
Hi,
The RFXtrx433E Ext firmware version 1008 support MCZ stove.
The same things as it was made in homeseer http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?p=127499
I looking for a meaning to include this stove in Domoticz.
So if someone want to create a hardware plugin or explain me howto create it.
Thanks.

Re: Add the MCZ pellet stove
It's just a new protocol, same as all protocols this needs to be supported
You can for instance search in the code how another protocol is implemented, like a RFY for example

Hi everyone !
So do we have any chance to get it implemented on a next version of Domoticz ? I am currently using the last synology package but unfortunately, it seems not to be yet implemented ...

Re: Add the MCZ pellet stove
I gave a hand to RFXCOM developer in order to finalize the support of stove with 1, 2 or 3 fans and also the "NO AIR" mode as well as the stove running rules regarding the fan speed.
I know that everything are into the Domoticz's developer hands so let's wait for them to give us news about this development.
Unfortunately development it out of my skills otherwise I would have develop a plugin or something...
Finger crossed to get it before the end of the winter

Who is this developer ? As last week i added initial (internal) support for the Thermostat4.timbiker wrote:I gave a hand to RFXCOM developer in order to finalize the support of stove with 1, 2 or 3 fans and also the "NO AIR" mode as well as the stove running rules regarding the fan speed.

The RFXCOM developer is Bert.
Do you mean that you already include the support of thermostat4 frame into a Domoticz version ?

It is not finished yet.
I thought you gave another domoticz developer a helping hand to import this into domoticz

Re: Add the MCZ pellet stove
While we are talking about the subject, what do you want to control ?
I think it is very dangerous to control it via domoticz.
What happens if domoticz thinks it needs to warm up the house, and there is a plastic back in front of the stove, of even worse, an animal ?

Re: RE: Re: Add the MCZ pellet stove
Well the stove ils actually controlled by its remonte control. The remote is also used for thermostat. We can program the stove through the remote so it can turn on / off by itself. The point is that's not really convenient if you use to change your home time very often.gizmocuz wrote:While we are talking about the subject, what do you want to control ?

The worst that could happen it that Domoticz failed to change the power down and continue to ask the stove to heat. But it could be the same if you put the remote on manual full power flame. Or if the remote is far away the stove or in a very cold place or out or battery so...
The stove is equipped with 2 safety temperature sensors : one un the pellet tank and one in the burning area to prevent overheating.
Stove is also managing power on and power off sequence by itself.

Re: Add the MCZ pellet stove
So you can specify already a temperature and this is already home automated and controlled ?
Never the less, i will take a look and see what i can do, probably i will turn the stove on at full power when ON, and off (fan speed 0) for OFF

The most convenient would be to get full control of the flame power and fan speed.gizmocuz wrote:It's just a new protocol, same as all protocols this needs to be supported

As I said development is not my skill but do you think that I would ne able to try something for helping ?
I am thinking about kind of frame database for each setting possibilities. And a dummy sensor un domoticz with flame power and fan speed that is searching into the frame database the order to send depending of the settings entered.

Re: Add the MCZ pellet stove
Hi everyone
Here are few links from MCZ topic on a french forum : http://www.touteladomotique.com/forum/v ... &start=252
On page 22, one guy triggered some functions under Domoticz with a Raspberry. It was before RFXCom implementation.
Here it is :
https://github.com/KerberRF/APPLI_MCZ
And the remote notice (on page 36) : https://www.mczgroup.com/download/Vivo9 ... _sheet.pdf
The temperature sensor is included in the remote but it would be useful to replace it and to manage the stove with an external sensor to control the heat in another room.
Hope this help

Re: Add the MCZ pellet stove
You're right timetofly06. I had good contacts on the french forum and they did a good job for the mcz frames
For example, my stove is equipped with 3 fans. 1 for the room where it's installed, one for a bedroom and the last one for another bedroom.
Actually, the temperature of the bedrooms are monitored by Domoticz. I have to check them to set manually the fans of stove in order to keep good temperature in them.
I am dreaming that Domoticz can set the fans by itself according to the temperature.
Another point, my stove is actually programmed by the remote. Last time, my wife got back home earlier. She had to manually turn on the stove and was cold during 45mn the time for the temperature to get comfortable ! With a little "you should have connected the stove also. I would have turned it on with my cell phone when I left work !"

Re: Add the MCZ pellet stove
Hi Black64,
You are right , and it is an important to remind this point when we will write lua code. Nevertheless, as Timbiker said, the internal sensor in the stove is doing this check and regulate the temperature in case of remote damage. For exemple, when I turn off the stove, fans are still working during at least 15 minutes.
Anyway, I am available to check all this in a future beta version

Re: Add the MCZ pellet stove
Hi everybody,
I have a MCZ stove, that I can remotely control using the WiFi interface.
Buuuut... I've been looking for a solution to integrate this stove in my Domoticz system, at minimum to retrieve information about the state of the stove, in order to receive a notification at startup or shutdown times.
(of course, a full control of this stove would be... perfect !)
I have updated my RFXtrx433E with the 1012 firmware, but I wanted to know if someone already tried to gather information from his stove and dispay this information within Domoticz... ?
Thanks in advance for any reply.
See U guys
P.S: if necessary, I can try any advice or solution, as I get all the stuff
