Domoticz control of Alexa devices

Hi,
I have voice control of Alexa and Domoticz devices via Controlicz. This has proven to be very reliable. I still have Smartwares and even Home Easy devices in use and they are controlled both by switches (via Domoticz) and voice. ( via Controlicz)
However, sometimes switches are preferable to ...

Re: Upgrade to Version 11995 ---low risk or.....?

Thanks for that...I am indeed planning a backup and recovery path should the "easy" process go pear-shaped or worse. The basic idea is not to reach a point where there is no guaranteed recovery.
Some of my code has been running for so long that it is hard to remember all the details of installation ...

Re: Upgrade to Version 11995 ---low risk or.....?

Hi,

Thanks....I did Google the upgrade path and I found two approaches...one is the fu re-image and re install of everything. As I have a lot of services, UPS and more installed, this could be heavy. I also found an in-situ upgrade from a couple of places Is this the method that you refer to as ...

Upgrade to Version 11995 ---low risk or.....?

Hi,
A while back I received a message that my copy of Domoticz should be updated. I followed the advice
and I then needed two days to get anything working, as the need to upgrade the OS had been omitted.

My system is now working successfully...back with the old version of Domoticz, together with ...

Domoticz control of Alexa device

Hi,
I have around 30 or so devices controlled via Domotics...mostly based on HomeEasy devices. These are now linked to Alexa via HABridge and all work very well.
Because of transmission difficulties I was obliged to purchase an Alexa switch which runs via WiFi and is recognised directly by Alexa ...

Re: Timer Display

Hi,

Thanks for that...I was not aware of the Time Plans to switch from one set to another. That does make it simpler than using the backup/restore method.

However, my real problem is getting a clear overview of the various timers for the various devices on one (or more) pages. The idea is that I ...

Timer Display

Hi,

I have a Domoticz system which is controlling around 40 devices...ranging from HiFi to sets of lights. When we are on holiday we use a set of timers to simulate our presence in the house. On return, we reset the timers.

Is there any way of dealing with the timers via a table of some sort...it ...

Re: Alexa Stops! ...now it Starts!

Recompiling with Port 80 fixed most of the problems...so the port parameter does not work without hard embedding.

This has resulted in Devices being found at least twice....once as Philips Hue White Light and secondly, as Royal Philips Electronics smart device.

In general, it seems that most ...

Alexa Stops!

Hi,
Big mistake...I went on holiday about a month ago, for three weeks. When I returned, Alexa would not recognise a single device. "Not recognised" was the message. I could claim that I changed nothing...true...but of course, the entire system could have changed around me.

So, I upgraded HAB to ...

Re: Easy Domoticz to Alexa Integration

Your Domoticz needs to be accessible via the internet - i would suggest implementing ssl https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Native_HTTPS_/_SSL_support

Then in the Controlicz site you just need to provide:

domoticz IP/dns name
port no:
domoticz Username
domoticz password

So, if I am reading this ...

Re: Amplifier and speaker protection

As long as you only operate one switch then you can use blockly to also change the state of the 2nd switch with a on-delay (either in that switch (if I remember correctly thats possible, or set the delay in blockly)

Great... I shall look into that. It sounds exactly what I need. There will be a ...

Amplifier and speaker protection

Hi,
I am a DIY HiFi builder. Many of these "experimental" systems suffer from a turn on "thump" through the speakers as the different parts of the electronics settle down after power on.
My System uses separate HomeEasy receivers to power on the main hi-fi stack, and separate HomeEasy receivers to ...

Re: automatic garagedoor opener/closer

Hi,
Not quite... there is a safety feature.
First push is open. If you push again and the door is still moving then it stops. If you now push again it will go back to closing. I assume this logic is outside of your control so it should still work, but it does need checking from the safety point of ...
