I'm trying to use it with Zigate

This is about the Doorbell for Zigbee. There is another Lidl doorbell that uses rflink, it is discussed elsewhere in the forum.

I purchased one of these

It is able to join the Zigbee (Zigate) network

It appears as an Alarm device on the Utility tab

When I look at the Log tab for the device ...

- the official PSU for Pi 3, with a Micro USB, supplies 2.5 amp

I've tried a few different dimmer buttons, including Philips Hue, Osram, Ikea and Aqara.

Most of these have a procedure to join directly with a bulb or socket. This involves holding the button very close to the target bulbs, less than 10cm away and then pressing or holding some activation button ...

I've built a package of 4.12.102 and placed it in the apt repository for Debian sid, Debian buster and Raspbian buster

The package should install using the usual instructions

Apt should upgrade the package automatically for anybody who installed the old version using apt.

I tried 4.12.102, web UI, Ikea buttons, Zigbee native groups

It isn't completely working. The left/right buttons still don't work. Here is what happened:

- installed 4.12.102 and domoticz 2020.2 using my latest packages
- updated the Zigate firmware to 3.1d
- restarted domoticz
- it complained ...

I saw that you made new tags, stable-4.11.014 and beta-4.12.098, is this included in both of those versions? I'd like to build an updated version of the package and then test this as part of the package upgrade process.

The first question relates to Phase 2 in this document .

The user has to "Remove the file Data/GroupList-xx.pck in the Domoticz-Zigat... Edit (or create if not existing ) the file Conf/ZigateGroupsConfig-xx.txt (where xx is the ID of your Zigate Hardware in Domoticz). And add a new line xxxx, Group ...

I did some more tests today

In this case, I was more thorough about fully resetting each bulb before testing it with an Ikea remote

Here are my updated observations, some success and some limits with the Ikea remotes:

Here is some more detail, any static file (e.g. *.py) is installed under /usr and from there I have symlinks to the other locations (/var, /etc) to make sure that:

a) the plugin code can find things in the way you are developing it, but

b) Linux users who expect ...

I do not have any other remotes connected to the bulbs I tested, these are spare bulbs that I use for testing.

The Lidl products were launched in December, they still have some in stock at very cheap prices, I put some pictures on my blog . I got one of the LED strips and one of the multi-colour ...

(edit: I subsequently got the remotes mostly working with non-Ikea bulbs, see later post below)

On point (c), I tried to join the small Ikea dimmer button with three devices, a Philips Hue bulb, a Mueller Licht bulb and a Livarno Lux LED strip. It does not appear to work with any of them so I feel ...

The current Debian package is plugin 4.4.9

I started looking at making an update for 4.12.087

Can you please comment on a few things:

a) I found it will not work any more if these user doesn't add HomeFolder to their PluginConf.txt file, could you adapt the code to work without HomeFolder ...

You have an arm64 architecture and I only built for amd64, i386 and armhf so far.

I'd be happy to build for arm64 as well but it might be a few days before I do another build, is that OK for you?

I've made updated packages available for Debian and Raspbian.

The instructions for installing them are the same as what I described in this thread for the previous version of the packages

With this release, I haven't created packages for Debian 9 (stretch) as it is no longer supported by Debian ...

Ikea is now offering a number of very cheap control devices, the dimmer button, the round switch (5 buttons) and motion detector.

Has anybody tried them with Zigate and the Domoticz Zigate plugin?

Is any specific Zigate firmware version, plugin version or Domoticz version necessary?

Add the button to a group and either button is activating the group, only one of the buttons should control the group.
